See that you are running 32 bit drivers and they are very old. I think they have to be use that old Nvidia GT220 card. What does the first 30 lines of the Event Log show when you first startup BOINC?

You are not showing ANY usable video drivers for BOINC at all. How did you install the Nvidia drivers? Did you use the repository version or did you install them directly downloaded from the Nvidia site?

Just looked for what the Nvidia site shows for drivers for your video card. https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/135160/en-us

Key item in the driver description is that the driver is not supported on current Linux kernels.

Updated nvidia-installer in the 340.xx legacy driver series to default to installing the driver without the NVIDIA Unified Memory kernel module if this module fails to build at installation time. The 340.xx legacy Unified Memory kernel module is incompatible with recent Linux kernels, and the GPU hardware generations that the 340.xx legacy driver series is intended to support do not support Unified Memory.

So unless you backleveled to a much older kernel or get a more modern video card, you are out of luck running any gpu science applications.

I don't know. Both OS have recently dropped support for 32 bit drivers. I don't remember seeing any card that old running Windows. There are two different gpu applications for Windows, one application is OpenCL based and I believe has a minimum CC level needed of 3.0. The older CUDA 32 and 42 application have a compute capability minimum of 1.0. Your GT 220 has a CC level of 1.2

The stock Linux MB gpu app is CUDA6 based and has a minimum CC of 1.0.

So theoretically you should be able to run the stock CUDA6 application in Linux. I don't know why you are not able to run the card with the Nvidia drivers. As as I said you need to move them off the noueveau drivers.

[Edit] From that installation page you linked. What was the output of the lsmod | grep commands?

Did you have output from the search for nouveau? Did you have output from the search for nvidia?

I have Linux machine and I wanted to learn something new. [new to Linux]
Configuring this to run prime grid took me around 2weeks. (automatically turn boinc after restart or fix dropping wifi connection(wicd manager))
I had spare card GT220 which has CUDA and isn't to old?

I think you would be much better off buying a newer, used, GTX card off ebay. Any card that old is going to be very slow and a real headache to get working. Used cards are very cheap now and there are plenty to choose from.
