Hi
I have finally got my new graphics card running in my DELL Precision T3500 [host no. 8023146] and WUs crunch out at around 700 seconds. This was after selecting only one setting for SoG.
Two questions:
a) How do 1060 and later GPU cards compare with the 1050 ti?
b) What are the Multibeam and Astropulse settings for?

I am tempted to add another card into the DELL TU (the power supply seems OK) as there is a spare PCIE slot, but am worried about my electricity bill.
BTW just sold the old QUADRO 5000 on eBay for £78.
TIA
George

Your computers are hidden it's hard to give you more info about the configuration if we not know what you have, we need more info like the OS you use, processors, etc.

Unhide the hosts not give anyone access to your hosts. Just let us see what you are running.

a 1060 is about 60-70% (1.67x) faster than a 1050ti.
a 1080ti or RTX 2070 are about 300% (4x) faster than a 1050ti

Thanks Guys
So from previous posts:
a) 1050 several times faster than old QUADRO 5000
b) 1050 ti 20% faster than a) with 4GB Cost: £160
c) 1060 60% -------- " ------b) with 6 GB Cost: £233
d) 1080 ti 300% -------- " ---b) with 8GB Cost: £979
e) RTX 2070 also 300% ----- " ----- b) also with 8 GB Cost: £539

which all goes to show that you get what you pay for. The above prices are new with pre-owned units significantly less.

And if I may repeat a previous question, what components do I need to turn my Dell TU 8023146 into a proper PC rather than its current state of purely crunching WUs?

My mistake. I look in the wrong place

Beside the cost of the GPU you need to see the capacity of your PSU. 1050 runs with low power PSU's bigger GPU's like the 2070 needs a bigger PSU.

From the EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 XC GAMING, specs: For example

Requirements
Minimum of a 550 Watt power supply.
An available 6-pin PCIe power connector and an available 8 pin PCIe power connector
Total Power Draw : 175 Watts

Dells tend to be very picky when it come to power sources and what you can plug into the machine. I'd hate for you to buy a high end GPU only to find out that the computer will not boot with it. Most Dell come with a low watt power supply around 300-400Watts. Meaning they only support a card that either gets it's power from the PCIe slot or at max a 6 pin connector from the PSU. I tried to install a 650W Evga PSU in mine and it refused to boot.

My 2 cents.

Dear Zalster
Thanks for your response here. Looks like I will stick to my current unit which crunches WU in around 700 seconds which is a huge improvement on the four laptops I have, but then I bought those as laptops tend to be more efficient power wise plus I always have a spare.
