I buy "fun-size" Almond Joys out of my niece and nephews' trick-or-treat bags for 50 cents apiece. They think it is hilarious that auntie buys things out of their bags. I tell them that I only want locally sourced, sustainably harvested, actual Halloween candy. (No fair buying a bag of Almond Joys at the grocery store and reselling them to auntie one at a time...) So far, they seem to be following the rules. Last year Eric and I gave out full sized Hershey milk chocolate bars and we will probably do this again. Nobody else gives out full size bars anymore. I love, love, love Halloween and I want to encourage as many trick-or-treaters as possible to ring our doorbell. Hopefully the word has gotten out in the neighborhood and we will top last year's record of 20 kiddos. ID: 1961629 ·

When I was a kid, I grew up in this same house, and back then there were kids all over the street, and I'd say everybody got visited by a 100 kids. We went to far as to give full size organic fair trade bars along with glow sticks. Kids were bussed in. We typically had 3-500. The fire department would set up a road block so no cars could come it, ID: 1961927 ·
