Hello.

After the hot summer I switched on again my PC ("dual Xeon" with "four FuryX" VGA cards).

It's Win8.1 Pro x64.
"ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS" Mobo.

After the normal boot up procedure (HDD activity), I see the Windows logo on the screen, the points in a circle are moving,
no HDD activity, the first VGA cards LEDs are on,
normally then the 2nd, 3rd and 4th VGA cards LEDs will be on, but now, not.
Just the 1st VGA cards LEDs are on.

It looks like Windows can't initialize the 2nd VGA card?

The above mentioned mobo had/have always his own head.
In past, I switched on the PC, sometimes it hang during boot up, reset button and normal start of Windows.
Always the time in windows go wrong. Every week I could synchronize the time with the Windows server that the time go right again. It's so long time ago I can't remember if faster or slower than the correct time was.

OK, yesterday, I switched on the PC, I see the logo, reset button after 5 minutes because nothing happens,
the Windows logo again and something like 'the PC will be checked'. After 20 minutes nothing happens again reset button.
Windows logo and nothing happens.

Today I inserted the Windows DVD in the USB drive, loaded from DVD,
I clicked something like 'test, why Windows will not start correctly'.
Again the Windows logo and 'the PC will be checked'.
How long I should let it like this?
One, two hours, one day?

What I could do, that I don't need to install Windows again from scratch?

If you suspect one of the other GPUs, why not remove the extra ones, see if Windows boots, and add them one by one until it doesn't? Then you have your culprit.

No, I don't think it's a VGA card problem.

Maybe there is an easy way to repair Windows, instead of to install the OS new from scratch?

Or maybe there is an other problem - very easy to fix that Windows will start again?

I hate to say it but, he's right. Best to remove the extra GPUs and see if it will boot with only 1, then 2, etc. If it's a fault GPU or slot then you will find out when it fails to boot. If you suspect a slot, move the GPU to another and see if it will post with that GPU. If it does, then test the slot.

The name RADEON (logo) is on, but no LED of the 8 LEDs, normally just one is on if the VGA card is active (after initializing).

Before I switched off the PC the VGA cards were running well.
I don't think just because of they wasn't in usage one of them is now damaged...
Or...?

I still hope it's a software problem... ;-)

Had you just opened the case already and taken out the power cables to the extra cards, then tried to boot up, you would've had a whole wealth of information more than you have now. I'm sorry, but why ask for help when once given you just turn it down flat-handed anyway?

hi, no melted connectors ? with the cool down of the unit, it may have some bad electrics contacts too , i have sometimes to shake some connectors to have a successfull boot up or disconnect and reconnect them ..
