Unfortunately all my browsers, Firefox and Chromium, are unable to see the videos.

Mmmm... What media apps do you have?

I'm playing various of those web medias at the moment using:

Firefox 60.2.2 ESR
October 2, 2018

on a Gentoo Linux system.

Not checked which codec is being used. I have ffmpeg installed which seems to include just about everything in existence!

Do you have anything like "noscript" enabled that is blocking the '.edu' site 'cleverness'?

Good luck!

Keep searchin',
Martin

I think I cannot see all videos coded in HTLM5. I have a Kaffeine media player which I can call when needed.

Use your Kaffeine media player at this site and see how it scores for HTML5 compatibility.
https://html5test.com/

My Chromium Version 70.0.3538.77 (Official Build) Built on Ubuntu , running on Ubuntu 18.04 (64-bit)
scores 526 points out of total 555 points possible. No problems playing HTML5 video.

The big and latest change in Chromium 70 was the removal of all the old Symantec credentials because of their flaws. New credentials were issued.
