Hi, I haven't seen any Astropulse work units in a very long time (months?); does anyone know why? Just curious.

Thank you,

Mark

I suggest you read the thread all about them:
https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=82860

Then check the status of your own computers:
https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=6812555
https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=8546029
https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=8496994

(Six over three computers is not exactly "none in months".

Same goes here, though it is around 4 weeks of no Astropulse tasks for a total of 9 computers??? This is very unusual for my subscription to Seti@home since 2014... Can someone look into this???

Astropulse tasks are only created from data recorded at the Arecibo radio telescope.

The astronomers directing Arecibo's research programme haven't generated any usable data in the last few weeks (we require an astronomer to specify usage of the ALFA antenna), but there may be some coming up towards the end of the month.

Can I cry one more time? Around the end of August I did get around 5~6 astropulse tasks into my (I think 4 different) computers... There is one still pending validation from early september, but no new astropulse tasks in none of my computers... My preferences are configured accoring to advices I got from the message boards and still no proper results?

Any advice to this dedicated Seti@home user?

So is the issue about the Astropulse that is still pending validation? My understanding is if your "wingman" doesn't send back a task after a while it is sent out to another system to process. I am not sure about the "time out" period.

Deadlines for AP are a lot shorter than for MB. Only 3-4 weeks for AP versus the 6-7 weeks for MB. So your pendings for AP are normally lower and of much shorter duration.

In the last few weeks AstroPulse tasks have been even rarer than usual, a lot of people haven't received any.
The validation policy is the same for AstroPulse tasks as it is for normal tasks, two people have to agree on the result.
Your single "pending" AstroPulse result was initially sent out to two people, yourself and another person, sadly that person had problems when downloading the task, so the task was sent to a third person, who hasn't finished processing it yet (its due date is in early October), so your credit will have to wait until they've finished.
