As of June 5 - I too reached the 19 year milestone. Have not previously posted to this annual event, but why not now. There are not many who are in the original class of users. Anybody know how many signed up and contributed that first month? Anyway had 105000 original classic credits when that part ended. John |

Congrats, John ! The SETI@home Classic Registration Index is what you're looking for. 165 users signed-up on that first month of March 1999 (many big names). 5933 users signed-up during April 1999 (I suddenly feel my bragging rights to be greatly diminished :) From then on, I suspect the sign-ups' growth migh be geometrical; being lazy I'll let someone more motivated do the calculations for the following months =:) As of June 5 - I too reached the 19 year milestone. 19 years for me to. Watching a lot of x-files got me started. |

Congrats ! For me, 1999 was the year when nuclear waste stored on the Moon's far side exploded, knocking the Moon out of orbit and sending it, as well as the 311 inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha, hurtling uncontrollably into space. I thought help was badly needed, and that's when I heard about SETI@home... 19 years for me to. Watching a lot of x-files got me started. Apr 3, 1999 - May 3, 2020 |

And today's my day - and I've just passed 12,000 posts as well! Are we going to do anything special for #20 next year? |

On this day, it is obvious the 4th is with you, Richard - congrats =:) I too hope something can be done on that special anniversay. From what I have gathered in this thread, on the occasion of the 15th anniversay a tee was designed (by whom?) and its distribution insured or facilitated by Uli, rob smith, zoom314 and Chris S. Technomages Eric and Angela K. were also involved, at the very least for the collection of payments (am I missing anyone?). Meetups were organized worldwide, but where and by whom I can't say for sure at this time. Should we keep the same (imho very nice) design (with the relevant, necessary modifications) ? Should we start a new discussion thread now regarding the 20th anniversary events or is it too soon ? A call for action/participation could then be made. And today's my day - and I've just passed 12,000 posts as well! Apr 3, 1999 - May 3, 2020 |

And today's my day - and I've just passed 12,000 posts as well! Maybe we could bribe Uli with a seti toaster to do the T shirt thing again? |

Meetups were organized worldwide, but where and by whom I can't say for sure at this time.I can vouch for that - I had a hand in gathering the Yorkshire coven ;-) And I've still got both the 10th. and the 15th. T-shirts. |

I missed out on the previous T's. Sure would not like to miss out on the 20th Anniversary of the Project T-shirt if made available. Self promotion is not bad for the general project. When I wear my MW@Home T-shirt I get asked what it means by the public. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |
