Actually it's our former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Carl Bildt that tweeted that yesterday and is in Brazil right now:)

I have no idea how common this is in Brazil.
We are used to Fika without instructions. Hehe:)

I have bought an Illy electric coffee machine. It has two buttons, one gives an espresso and another a long coffee, which mixed with milk, makes a good cappuccino. Of course you need Illy coffee capsules, the machine is not compatible with Nespresso capsules. But you can choose between different countries of origin for your Illy capsules. I am now drinking Colombia coffee.

Those coffee capsule machines sure are convenient and neat. I don't have one, but they're especially nice for businesses.

Weird Science: Why do we like the taste of coffee?

"Bitterness evolved as a natural warning system to protect the body from harmful substances – and by that logic, we should want to spit it out."

I would have thought 'sourness' was a greater taste indication or food infection rather than bitterness.

The story of Mrs Beeton is interesting. (Mid 1800s celebrity cook and wifery)

What we know about her today is that she probably aided in the deaths of near a million people (mostly children + old and unhealthy) through her advice to add Alum (Aluminium 'Salt') to milk to help it keep..

Essentially Alum masked the sweet sour taste of milk going off (no fridges at that time.)

Sadly it masked the sour smell and taste that would normally indicate harm.

Mastitus, CJD, E.coli, salmonella, Anthrax, Q-Fever, ++

Mastitus is still a major issue (particularly in the US) due to the over use of of hormones to help produce more milk. Mastitus also causes bleeding from udders. (This brings in the various viral and microbial issues such as Rabies..)

Mr Beeton whilst being the darling of the socialite classes quietly became a mass murderess.

She's kind of an anti-heroin.

I've used her cook book since I was a child.

She gives a mean recipe for Sand Cake.

Was looking through my Favorites/Saved List @YouTube and found this catchy song:
The Manhattan Transfer - Java Jive
I love coffee, I love tea
I love the Java Jive and it loves me ...

Nice tune.

I have a Starbucks gift card I need to use. Maybe I'll get something fancy in the morning.

Diet Mountain Dew or Kroger Diet Cola when DMD is out or I don't have enough money for both DMD and some Fritos.

Some think that Diet Soda is as bad as Regular Soda is, that's a MYTH not supported by Facts which might have been put out by the Sugar Lobby aka: Big Sugar

https://examine.com/nutrition/is-diet-soda-bad-for-you/

When comparing diet soda against other non-caloric beverages in an intervention study, and you control the rest of the diet, no difference in weight loss is noted. This suggests that the problem is likely the habits of people who drink diet soda, rather than the diet soda itself.[1] The Northern Manhattan study suggested that diet soda use may be correlated with disease as it its consumption was an attempt by (already unhealthy) individuals to reduce calories and take control of their health.

Do you know that Mountain Dew and other US citric flavoured soft drinks contain Brominated Vegetable Oil (BVO) a substance banned in Europe.

Kroger makes a version of Regular Mountain Dew, but without Brominated Vegetable Oil (BVO), but so far no diet version and I asked for a Diet version, until then it's DMD for Me, I won't buy the regular one cause it contains Sugar. Kroger is a store brand sold in Food4Less and Ralphs Markets.

Search Engines, some hate them since they lead to independent thinking.

If you search "do diet sodas help weight loss" most of the replies don't support your case.
Therefore if they don't and diet Mountain Dew contains chemicals banned in Europe are you not damaging your health?
