Have any of you heard about or watched mukbang YouTubers? They just sit there and eat and maybe review the food, too, but they earn money somehow through monetization methods on YouTube. While it's free to watch those mukbangers, there's another phenomenon whereby people pay a fee to watch other people playing video games, and the gamers become big stars(and rich): https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/11/20/how-to-get-rich-playing-video-games-online The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I've often looked for ways to get rich by doing basically nothing online. This isn't it. :-D ~Sue~ |

My son has a YouTube channel where he does walk thoughs. He makes $30-50 a month. Not too bad for a 15 year old. I do know one guy, in his mid 20's now that makes about $3 million a year. He has a production company making but started as a lone wolf. So that $3 million is not profit, just gross. His take home is still healthy. But no I don't know Mukbang. How about What's Amy eating? My goddaughter. |

I don't understand what you mean by a "walk through", and how does he make the money? From You Tube? I really don't understand the nuts and bolts of how any of them make money, but I assume it's ad revenue on their channel, or maybe product endorsements? Your goddaughter, Amy has a nice presentation. I stumbled upon the mukbang vlogger featured in the link above your post, Carlos, when I was looking for some information on a new item at some fast food emporium near me. He cracked me up, and I got a little addicted to his vlogging style. Some of the mukbangers are just really cringe-worthy unwatchable and dumb, imo, but many of them get quite a windfall from their efforts. As for the gamers making bank on sitting around all day playing, more power to them, too. I just can't imagine paying to watch them, but apparently people do. It's advertising revenue. Each time someone watches a video they are also exposed to ads. The producer of the video is paid a percentage of the ad revenue. The more that people watch the more they make. As for walk thru, say that you are having problems getting past a spot in the game, Simple example is if you are given a choice of a red pill or a blue pill. You take the red and die, You take the blue and die. You are stuck. You can watch a video that shows the correct solution is to shoot the person offering the pill. That is a very simple example. Thanks, Amy is really cute. She is a good person in real life too. You need to watch her sing the Cuppycake song. |

The thing that gets me is the voluminous amount of negative comments on these mukbang vlogs. I think that would bother me too much. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |
