I imagine that being a pair of public figures can be quite challenging, and that the difficulties associated with being "royal" and always in the public eye can put tremendous strain on a relationship. I wish the very best for this young couple. |

I wish the very best for this young couple.Me too. Prince Harry seems to be a very friendly person and having a great sense of humor. Just like his mum:) |

A different perspective.. Forgive me :) Who is Prince Harry and who is Megan? I haven't heard a single neighbour talk about this wedding or the royals. I live in a royal borough and still.... Perhaps they are all whispering behind the net curtains and too excited to share? I remember the 'Silver Jubilee' (1977) and whole streets turning out with long lines of tables, food and games in our working class areas. After 1979 (Thatcher period) the whole royal \ British culture thing went to pot with deaths, scandals and anus horribulus.... then nothingness... I'm a Brit and I think our royal family are the wealthiest clan on social security.. Yet I'm also a believer. I hope Harry and Megan find happiness. (Who ever they are :) ) |

It would also be helpful if you would stop posting links to Swedish websites that nobody can read, that is just silly. Using computer translators are very helpful:) https://translate.google.se/translate?sl=sv&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=sv&ie=UTF-8&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.svenskdam.se%2F2016%2F07%2Feuropas-kungahus-sa-ar-de-slakt%2F&edit-text= Meanwhile, back to the original intention of the thread, what is the interest in America for prince Harry's wedding to Megan?Megan? Don't you mean Meghan? |

......... I just wonder American interest in the royal family or British historic family connections relates to the way that we as British sometimes speak about Americans as our "cousins overseas". Talking to my father about his interest building our family tree (near a thousand years now.) He has remarked how American researchers often take his model of the family tree and hang theirs on even if it is only by a thin thread. Everyone wants to have a history and feel their life has a before. I don't know if Americans per-ce love royalty. I suspect the American media love any new event that fill their pages and from that we get the sense that Americans are royal mad. 250 million or so in America. I suspect most are too busy living daily to make a big deal of the Royals.... |
