Hello, since a short time I can't longer log in to my account at Asteroids@home. Google say: This connection is not secure The owner of asteroidsathome.net did not properly configure the site. Firefox has not affiliated with this site to protect your information from theft. I sent the admin Kyong over the SETI page a private message about this problem, I don't kow if he get a notification about. Maybe someone can log in at Asteroids@home (maybe with IE or other browser) and can write a private message to Kyong there. In past I did it and got very fast reaction. I guess there he get a notification. Thanks |

If I click Your account (Asteroids@home) there, I get the above mentioned warning... The log page opens normally here, i could type the e-mail & password normally, just can't log because i have no account there as expected. I'm using Chrome in a Linux box. No such account log in No account with email address xxxxxxxxxxxxxx exists. Please go back and try again. <edit> When i try with Firefox...... on the same host. Your connection is not secure The owner of asteroidsathome.net has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website. My suggestion, log with Chrome & send the PM you are trying to send. Then go back to Firefox. Or with Firefox go to the advance section when the error msg appears and create an exception, then your log page will be open normally. |

Both your non-secure link and https://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/index.php work in my Firefox Quantum on my phone. As does the login page, although I can't log in, because I don't know my credentials there. |

This sounds very much like a problem I had with Firefox, which I hadn't had before. Before I installed Bitdefender, that is. After that, 100's of sites flagged-up with that message, but only with Firefox.....Chrome and IE were OK. Removed Bitdefender and tried Adaware and it was back to normal. I also noticed that the PC 'felt' quicker, too and as far as I can tell, CPU WU times are also a little lower. Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

Found possible problem using Chrome: Mixed Content: The page at 'https://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/index.php' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image 'http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/img/head_20.png'. This content should also be served over HTTPS. Found a work around for Firefox: Here’s how to disable Firefox insecure password warnings: Open a new tab, paste about:config into the address bar and hit enter. |

Makes the old Norton Internet Security resource hog look like greased lightning. From memory, the defaults for Bitdefender are to scan everything. And I mean everything. All emails sent or received, all web browsing goes through Bitdefender before it makes it to your browser. I suspect even copying of files between directories results in them being scanned first. Same for opening of files with Notepad etc & running of programmes. Grant Darwin NT |
