The network guys think the problem is fixed, but they never identified the problem.

What fixed the problem? A power outage happened at Green Bank, and that may have reset whatever piece of equipment was causing the problem.

Not very satisfying, but hopefully it stays fixed.

When in doubt reach for the big red switch.

Hard to trouble shoot when it is working

Completely off topic here but why does the Forum go down during maintenance?
Most game or project forums can still be accessed during this period..
Is it possible for Seti forum to stay active during these down times?

Actually, look to the left column. See the lines Credit and RAC. They are from the database that is down for the outrage. Perhaps a different design choice should have been made a long time ago, but it is what we have now.
