I found a slight bandaid to this problem would be to max out the work days to 10. Helps fill in the gaps. Even then, it only buys a little time to crunch.

Thanks for all you guys do!

I appreciate your dedication to this project!

Cheers!

Eric

Doesn't help at all with the scheduler hard limit of 100 tasks per cpu or gpu.

. . Actually it can help on slower machines where the daily returns are in single or double digits, but sadly not on the more up to date rigs. {edit} But I would not think it would help on a Threadripper with a GTX1080ti ?

Ha ha. Looked at the Host from your quoted post. Not sure why that host isn't running more "optimized" with that kind of horsepower. I really cringe when I see capability wasted on the default apps.

If the connection problem still happening why instead of the google transfer not use the mega.nz transfer? Their speeds are very high (ok not like the internet2) and the cost it's a lot less than 100$ per TB as posted in the msg below, a plan with 8 TB of storage & 16 TB of transfer cost just 29.99 € /month and could be paid even with bitcoins.

Juan, could you correct the URL to point at the actual message you intended. Don't remember any message with mesa.nz.

No news is the operative. Who knows how the tapes showed up. Suspect it still was via the slow method unless for some reason Eric doesn't deem any updated news on the slow connection problem to Green Bank worthy of mention on the Front Page or News.

The network guys think the problem is fixed, but they never identified the problem.

What fixed the problem? A power outage happened at Green Bank, and that may have reset whatever piece of equipment was causing the problem.

Not very satisfying, but hopefully it stays fixed.

When in doubt reach for the big red switch.

Thank you for the good news, Eric!
I also hope that it stays fixed.
But at least if it does not, you have narrowed it down to someplace they can start looking now.

Elon Musk wants to eventually have a global Hyperloop network. Then we can just have a series of couriers bring back the data. ;)

Completely off topic here but why does the Forum go down during maintenance?
Most game or project forums can still be accessed during this period..
Is it possible for Seti forum to stay active during these down times?

Cheers
