I have set "Seti@home Beta Test" as back up project. Still SETI.

@betreger
..seriously?

Thanke you for the detailed note.

I have already seen the point tools, but I do not see where for each single projectthere could be assigned a corresponding priority.
So if someone who knows how to do it and is willing to write more than one word can help me, this would be very nice.

You set the resource share percentage at each project's Preference page.

Eric mentioned to me that they average about 1.1TB per day, which is about 120Mbps continuous 24/7. But they don't have 24/7 access to the Greenbank pipe. But it would certainly help.

You should install and test a FTP server and drop him a PM.

Hmmmm, at work we have a 500 Mbps upload and download connection to the internet. Maybe I should stand something up for this coming weekend.

Definitely certainly clear it with the boss/owners first. You wouldn't want to find out on Monday that they pay by the byte.

. . To expand a little, that means go your accounts page for each project and find preferences or tools for that project and set the priority to 0%.

Well, the network folks are still debugging and haven't isolated the problem. I've thought about requesting that they replace all the hardware between here and GBT.

Matt is talking about the possibility of shipping disks (for Breakthrough purposes primarily), but the hardware necessary probably couldn't be in place for a couple months, assuming GBT will let us use additional space and power there.

Let us know if new hardware is needed Eric. We can certainly mount another donation drive as we proved there is earnest commitment to the project on the last one.

A couple TB or early observations will be coming online soon.

One small file copied over from last nights AO observation and is in the radar blanker queue.

Awesome. Thanks to all!

Give it some time, work is being snatched up the second it is produced. The extended outage left a ton of machines dry, lots of catching up to do.

Probably several hours before any surplus is realized.

Afternoon good folks, my main computer is without units, but my laptop is still working? Could this be the case? I believe I have seen all three computers run out over the years, but this is the first I have noticed some on and some off. Just seeing if it is me, or whatever.

Thanks,

Rod

It they acknowledge there is a problem 1/2 the battle is won. All the way between is a lot of fiber. Or did you just mean all the routers? ;)

You have done the obvious and told them the time is was last working and the time you first noticed it slow, just so they can look to see if they have anything logged somewhere between those times. Never can tell when the janitor knocked a cable out and put it back wrong ...

Or I suspect a network wide router configuration change pushed out at that time.

Shipping disks? In that case I would like to place an order for a 1TB drive of data to crunch :)

If we do have to go to shipping disk there will be lots of drives to buy, and an enclosure on each side of the country.
