There a 1080Ti and a 1080 but they are going fast https://www.evga.com/products/productlist.aspx?type=0&family=GeForce+10+Series+Family |

Just purchased the 1080Ti Hybrid. Thanks for the head's up. More bucks than I wanted to spend but I was getting impatient with the lack of choice and availability. At least it is the Hybrid design that I need. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Glad you were able to get one. Yes, some good prices overall. Examples of loss-leaders for motherboards. If I had no preference for Red or Blue Team, those look enticing. But I am firmly an AMD or anyone other than Intel fanboy. I can't ever forgive Intel for their unpunished marketing shenanigans of the past and present. Great, just got back from the after party, and everything down to the 1060s are gone, nothing more than a 1050 in stock now. Huuuuh. Been waiting a week for the 1070 hybrids to pop into stock, anyone see any of those momentarily available? If not, I won't feel _quite_ as bad. |

No. I had notifications on the GTX 1070Ti Hybrid at Amazon, Newegg and EVGA. None of them ever showed a 1070Ti Hybrid for availability. So don't feel bad, you didn't miss out on anything. That is why I jumped on the 1080Ti Hybrid even though it was more than I wanted to spend. Who knows when my original notification requests will ever show up. I still need another Hybrid for another system. I have to get the middle sandwich cards better cooled. Haven't seen an 1070Ti for awhile now. Mostly 1080, 1080Tis I wonder about that. Whether the initial spurt of 1070Ti cards used up all the available not good enough 1080 binned chips. It might be a while before the reject 1080 pile builds again sufficient to manufacture 1070Ti's. Vendors on Amazon now selling 6-packs of GPUs for cryptocurrency mining (You will need to disable any ad-blocking options/add-ons you might have in your web browser to view the article) The demand on GPUs created by cryptocurrency mining has resulted in exorbitantly high priced graphics cards that now routinely sell way above MSRP. If you're willing to cough up the cash, though, you can find just about any card out there. You can even buy in bulk, as third-party vendors on Amazon look to hawk multiple graphics cards at once. Just don't expect a price break. |

I have been hunting around to see what NVidia cards are about, and it appears only the 750Ti has a reasonable price tag on it. Geesh! |

I found a 750Ti hiding in my dad's unused computer. Thought about taking it home with me but flying so that is out. Next time family comes down, I'll have them bring it back to me. |

1070ti acx design Already gone. I can see the advantage of following the EVGA Twitter account. Why can't a GTX 750Ti fly?? Is there some restriction on electronics in carry on luggage I am not familiar with? Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

haha..I'd need a static free bag and packing. Better option is moving the entire computer back which I do next time my brother comes to visit. He can put it in the back seat and buckle it in. |

The threat of static damage to modern electronics is overrated. Unless you like rubbing your socked feet across the carpet and then touching a card, its pretty easy to dissipate static charge. Depends on the age of the electronics. Older components really do need careful handling because they have no built-in protections. I have a old CMOS based telescope controller that I would blow the programming out of every time if I did not ground myself to the mount before I picked up the hand controller. Especially bad at 9000 feet altitude in dry air. I started wearing heel grounders on my shoes to prevent inflicting a controller reboot. Probably could have just wrapped the card in your clothes in your luggage and called it good. Older components really do need careful handling because they have no built-in protections. Like mains surge protectors, those inbuilt protections have very limited lives, and a very limited ability to protect against static. A static discharge mat & wrist strap when handling & installing the card aren't necessary, but having a anti-static bag for moving it really is (if you want it to last). Grant Darwin NT |
