Add Xi's illegal expansion into the South China Seas
Do you have a case citation for that?

Historic Rights and the ‘Nine-Dash Line’:
The Tribunal found that it has jurisdiction to consider the Parties’ dispute concerning historic rights and the source of maritime entitlements in the South China Sea. On the merits, the Tribunal concluded that the Convention comprehensively allocates rights to maritime areas and that protections for pre-existing rights to resources were considered, but not adopted in the Convention. Accordingly, the Tribunal concluded that, to the extent China had historic rights to resources in the waters of the South China Sea, such rights were extinguished to the extent they were incompatible with the exclusive economic zones provided for in the Convention. The Tribunal also noted that, although Chinese navigators and fishermen, as well as those of other States, had historically made use of the islands in the South China Sea, there was no evidence that China had historically exercised exclusive control over the waters or their resources. The Tribunal concluded that there was no legal basis for China to claim historic rights to resources within the sea areas falling within the ‘nine-dash line’.

Why does China refuse to accept and participate in the proceedings of this tribunal, being heard at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague? Because China, as a sovereign state, is entitled to choose its preferred means of dispute resolution — a legitimate right under international law.

Gary... All Governments, including the USA's?

:-) :-) :-)
And another nail squarely struck!

The reason the UN is as doomed to failure as the League of Nations. Every 'Sovereign Nation' picks and chooses which 'Authority' it will recognize in a dispute.

The UN is a watchdog with no teeth, except when it needs someone to blame when the balloon goes up. Usually the US. (i.e. everyone's referencing the US actions in 1951-53 Korea).

Now that the 'doormat' has made it clear that no one will be allowed to clean their feet on us as long as Don and Nikki 'gots our back' we are again called pariah.

That's OK, cause we're the pariah with the purse. And now our $Billions are going to start staying home and fixing our problems instead of funding terrorism by 'pass through' phony friends.

JE... You know my opinion of The Donald.

Wishing 'Nikki' was our President. Perhaps in the future.

January 2021? No, not a mistype.
She would have my wholehearted support. With Mia Love as VP. Two of the smartest people in US Government today.

As I've also stated, The Donald is not the messiah but he is the messenger. I don't agree with a lot of his tactics(even though they seem to work, mostly), or his demeanor, I do agree with the message of People empowerment in Government.

And the message of Economic growth(the latest reports I've read show a MILLION Americans have already directly benefitted from the Tax Bill either through bonuses, raises in entry wages, and new job creation). All in all, personality aside, I think it's a big improvement from the last 8 if not the last 24 years.

We all need to quit reading the BS from both sides and just see for ourselves if things improve or go to hell. Reality is the final judge, not what someone tells us is reality. And it is that reality that will determine a lot of things in 2021.

I can see it now, the Chinese blockade of the West coast and the Russian blockade of the East coast. The EU post Brexit joining the Russian Federation for protection. Mexico and Canada building walls. The world will give the USA the DPRK treatment*. And the USA will be happy because there won't be any immigrants.

As The World believes whatever about the USA. The USA believes whatever about the rest of the World.
Both sides are correct in some beliefs and incorrect about others.

That's very true Clyde.
I believe that the US are not withdrawing:)

Note: I always reference time with an Historical Perspective. Near future doesn't mean a few years. It means decades, or perhaps more.

When you read history. Notice the time frames involved. Many changes take decades and sometimes generations. So you will read about a certain Empire's zenith in, let's say 100 C.E. (A.D.). Then the next paragraph refers to 175 C.E. events, and the next paragraph to 205 C.E. events, the next to 265 C.E. It seems quick and it is in historical terms. But not to the generations of people living at the time.

I see.
You are very much like Vova Putin then.
He is very fond of history.
Problem though is that he is cherry picking it.

Kim Jong-Un does the same but much worser.
His grandfather Kim Il-Sung is the God and Kim Jong-Un is Messiah.

Now with the winter olympics only a month away I can't help but wonder what, if any, precautions are being taken to protect the thousands of visitors that are descending on South Korea. Especially those from the USA and our closest allies.

I assume you mean precautions over and above the normal police crowd control and safety things you would expect.

I'm sure ROK has put in place restrictions on who can enter the country above normal. Other than that likely nothing is being done.

As to military, it appears as if some drills have been canceled. Unknown if these forces that would have been in drills would have been pulled from protection or not, but they are now available.

Despite the tense situation on the Korean Peninsula.
"North Korea is likely to participate," said North Korea's Chang Ung, member of the International Olympic Committee, according to Japanese Kyodo.
"North Korea's participation in the Winter Olympics is a good opportunity to show the united Korean people. Representatives of both countries can meet shortly to discuss opportunities, Jong-Un said about the games that the organizer has called the "Peace Games".
At the same time, the US and South Korea announce that they are not having their joint military exercises during the Winter Olympics.

I reckon there will be thousands of spectators in addition to the athletes going to South Korea. I can't help but believe that Kim has contemplated the possibility of making a threat to annihilate the Olympics venue and all who are there unless certain demands are met. If I can think of such a thing then I am sure he has.

Fascinating piece on DPRK and Kim on ABC 20/20 last night(GASP! yes I do watch more than FOX!). Some real insights into the current problem(Kim Chee Duc) and his 'alleged' assassination of his brother.

The most interesting detail I gleaned was that the murdered brother has a son, and he is the direct descendant of Kim Jung IL by his FIRST wife(a big distinction in Korean culture), while Duc Walk Poo is the youngest child of IL's SECOND wife(tantamount to a concubine in Korean culture).

The detail is this Grandson of IL is in concealment and under protection of the Chinese Government and is a 'champion in exile' of reform for the DPRK people the same as his murdered father. He would be a legitimate replacement in the eyes of the DPRK people due to his closer connection to Kim I and Kim II.

With a more reasonable 'dear leader' in their pocket perhaps a coup, aided and abetted by Xi, is not out of the question.
