A few years ago I set up my Boinc account, really liking that I could look at the nice graphs that acted as the screensaver. Now, after getting a new machine with Win 10, I see my score increasing and hear my fans working but no graphs appear. When looking at Boinc manager the "show graphics" is greyed out and not accessible. I've made sure windows has it as screensaver, too. Am I missing some settings or has Boinc/ SETI changed? |

I remember lots of posts during the summer that Windows 10 broke the BOINC screensaver. I don't know if that was ever resolved. You might want to search the forums for all the threads pertaining to the screensaver. You should read the BOINC Screensaver Wiki Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

The Creators Update seemed to break the SETI screen saver, however the Fall Creators Update fixed it on two of my machines. The clue here is that Fnokk said: hen looking at Boinc manager the "show graphics" is greyed out and not accessible. That means the workunit he's trying to look at is being crunched on the GPU which has no screen saver. He is using an FX9370 so there has to be one crunching on the CPU to look at. |

As far as I can tell I have one cpu core in use per WU and one shared cpu/gpu, nine in all. I've tried different computing options, percentages etc but to no avail. And- the "show graphics" is still greyed out no matter which WU I look at, so it's not the core in use that's the problem. And also- thanks for helping out, guys :D |

Show graphics button is greyed out for me on my PC running Windows 10 Creators Fall Edition for all running jobs. If you are using optimized binaries such as those from the Lunatics, they don't have graphics at all. Failing that explanation, I can confirm that the Show Graphics button is available on my Fall Creators Update system so it has to be something local to your system. |

As far as I can tell I have one cpu core in use per WU and one shared cpu/gpu, nine in all. I've tried different computing options, percentages etc but to no avail. Never said it was the "core in use." Any workunit being processed on the GPU will not have graphics. Those running on the CPU should have graphics available. The workunit in question must show in BOINC Manager, under the Status column as Running. If it says Running (0.04 CPUs) then it is running the GPU and will not have graphics. |
