I would say that he has no empathy, but I would be incorrect. He has empathy but it is for one thing only - $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and as much as he can garner!

But how does it translate to the American culture? In Britain, and I-don't-know-how-much-else-of-Europe, it would be customary - even now - for the males to be uncovered in a formal church ceremony like that (removing hats, if worn, on entry to the church), but for the females to be covered.

The striking thing about the photo is that the Donald himself is the only occupant of the front pew - of either gender, both sides of the aisle - not to be giving a hand salute.

In the US:
The military hand salutes are given both covered and uncovered, but saluting indoors is forbidden except when formally reporting to a superior officer or during an indoor ceremony.
