It is effectively holding the mouth shut to prevent the person saying what they feel like saying. There is decent evidence that Trump is a narcissist - who knows, perhaps psychopathic - which may mean that he does not have the ability to connect with people emotionally, feel empathy, and so on, so has learnt social interaction as opposed to intuitively feeling, reacting and responding in a more natural way.Think this could be closer to the truth than many may realise.
