I would speculate from "impossible" to "highly unlikely" for several reasons.

1) Impeachment may be initiated by the House, but it would have to be confirmed by a (more) Republican-dominated Senate. Not going to happen without very good cause.
2) There's no very good cause (yet?) Trump may not be the most likeable president (bit of an understatement) personally with his 3am toilet tweets, bluster and balderdash, but he's doing his job, "innocent until proven guilty" still applies, he hasn't started any wars... etc.
3) The GOP may have lost the House, but they gained in the Senate. Clinton and Obama both had worse midterms in which they lost in both houses. So not a chance of resignation either (Edit: other than for that "very good cause" of course, something unrelated to just the performance in the midterms. I'm pretty sure getting his tax returns released is going to be a priority, for example.)

Actually that does not apply. Impeachment isn't a criminal trial and quite possibly the 4th, 5th and 6th don't apply either. Fortunately we have never had a POTUS that was such an idiot as to force those issues to be decided.

I'm using the phrase "until proven guilty" to mean "until due process of law such as impeachment conviction has determined otherwise"... just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Trump has finally shown that he is a died in the wool democrat and played the tea for a fool. He has broken the republican party. For the first time in their lives there are republicans who voted for a democrat in this election. That breaking of the automatic no thought vote is forever. From now on they will look at the person, not the party by their name on the ballot.
