Long way to go until the US gets back to the employed numbers prior to 2009 as percentage of population. Prior to 2009 66% or over were employed, since 2014 only 63% are employed, and that number hasn't gone up in the period 2014/18. The jobs created are only just keeping up with the increase in working population even though record numbers of baby boomers are retiring creating more vacancies for younger generations.
All the numbers are available at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

It does require enough brain power to do multi-variable thinking. It seems like eye and most red ones are only capable of single state binary thinking, generally "My Way or the Highway."

The real part of those BLS numbers is when they are combined with Census numbers. Less and less consumers, with lower wages, there is no way the economy can grow under such numbers. It must fall. The stimulation is providing the fuel for another 1929. The only real answer is to increase wages and that means frequent hikes to the minimum wage. This also has the side effect of giving people more confidence that they will have enough money to raise a baby. However this is beyond the ability of a conservative to grasp.

Then WHY are employers offering bonuses for new hires? The jobs reports read 223,000 new jobs ADDED not replaced, ADDED.

As to the period 2014/18 would that be because 'doom and gloom' apologist Big Ears was telling everyone 'it's sooo bad' just stay home. We'll make it easy, free Medicaid, free rent, free food, and we'll pay you a monthly stipend to make working for a living seem really unattractive.

Bubba Clinton had one moment of sanity when he pushed 'Workfare instead of Welfare', want benefits? Then public service work must be performed in return unless you are PROVEN to be disabled.

A "No More Free Lunch" policy would see a massive increase in the labor pool.

Time to change this.....

.........To MAGA

Even though the birthrate has fallen, there is an increase in population as the population is over twice the size it was in 1950.
The increase it jobs plus the extra added because of higher than normal retirement rates is only just keeping up with the population increase.

And even though the jobless total is low, how many of the newer jobs are only part time and how many are low paid. Bonuses might be being offered but the wage increase, slightly higher this month, is only just over, 0.1 to 0.2% above inflation. At that rate it will be another five years before wage rates are back to pre 2009 rates.

If you want a good question, then try, "Why do people not want to be long distance drivers of heavy goods vehicles, at $80,000/year?"

Why do you keep saying that Obama is responsible for the US Welfare System.
There are six major U.S. welfare programs. They are TANF, Medicaid, Food Stamps, SSI, EITC and Housing Assistance.

TANF - Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, It began on July 1, 1997
Medicaid - The Social Security Amendments of 1965 created Medicaid by adding Title XIX to the Social Security Act,
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly Food Stamps - started in 1939 but became Food Stamp act in 1964
SSI, Supplemental Security Income - introduce by Richard Nixon.
EITC, earned income tax credit - Enacted in 1975,
Housing Assistance - Section 8 of the Housing Act of 1937

Not one of those was introduced by Obama, some might have been modified when Obama was the President, but most Presidents make changes.

The Social Security Amendments of 1965 created Medicaid by adding Title XIX to the Social Security Act,
Lyndon Johnson, Liberal Democrat President
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly Food Stamps - started in 1939 but became Food Stamp act in 1964
Franklin Roosevelt, and Lyndon Johnson, Liberal Democrats
SSI, Supplemental Security Income - introduce by Richard Nixon.
I'll give you that one.
EITC, earned income tax credit - Enacted in 1975,
By a Liberal Democratic Congress forced down the throat of a lame duck President Ford. Veto would have been overridden.
Housing Assistance - Section 8 of the Housing Act of 1937
Frankln Roosevelt.

Massive expansion of Medicaid under Obama, Drained Medicare fund to pay for Obummercare. The 'Affordable Healthcare Act' which has more than doubled the insurance premiums paid by those who actually work to pay for the healthcare of those who won't work.
