I send some Gridcoins as well, kind of my own transaction fee, whenever I transfer Gridcoins from my wallet to another address. I always include a couple of Gridcoins to a BOINC project accepting Gridcoins as donation. I started solo more than a year ago. When I had some trouble with the Wallet, I got help from the very active community. So if someone needs help to start mining Gridcoins let me know. |

An update on my Gridcoin experience up until now. I have been Gridcoining for about 45 days now, and earned my first stake of coins today. All in all I have made Gridcoins that have a value of about 40$.... It has been a steep learning curve, and I'm still not sure I understand all the inner workings of the system. I probably do not. The original plan was to donate all my earnings to Seti. That is still the plan, but I have had to modify it. First of all I dropped riding Solo for a start, and joined a pool, which has steadily been paying since then. Slowly rising to about 15 coins a day. I still run 20% Seti beside the pool in solo mode, to keep up a little RAC, so I could probably make some more coins, but I like it the way I have it set up. I have also tried getting free coins from the so called "faucets", but they pay very little, and are often offline, so I'll probably stop doing that soon. Its not worth the effort. My plan now is to keep the current setup until I start staking coins regularly, like once every 14 days or so. Then I'll start increasing my solo crunching and reduce the pool crunching, while still building up coins. When I get enough coins that I stake once to twice a week (on average), I'll go full solo. From then on I'll pay my earnings to Seti, but keep a high enough coin balance to keep up the staking frequency. As dificulty keeps going up, I'll have to add coins to my wallet to keep staking often. So not all coins will go to Seti, only the surplus not needed to keep up my staking interval. Theres a balance there that will need to be found. But in some time, most probably 3-6 months, I should be able to pay Seti a small amount of coins every month. How many coins, and what their value would be, I have no idea right now. That will be up to factors such as how fast the dificulty rises, how much a Gridcoin is worth and probably other factors. My computer setup, could at some time prove to small / slow to keep up with difficulty, and then my staking interval would get longer (and longer, and longer). I'm not going to update like crazy to keep up with this, I'll upgrade when I feel it necessary, and that is still mostly driven by the computer games that I play on the system. But with a little patience and some effort, I'll be able to support Seti a little bit in this way :) And even though there has been some work and a lot of learning, I have found it fun and sometimes very interesting to get this thing going. |

I joined Gridcoin some 2-3y ago. Back then, you also had to have 200GRC to collect PoR. But back then it was something like under $20 & I did get some FREE GRC, as you can also now. Now, you really have to have 2-2,5k GRC to get started - which comes about $100+. & it is a problem! But, you can join a GRCpool to get those initial GRCs started. & from there, you can also pick-up. & also, what I have done lately is on end of every month there some $30-$100 buck in my wallet or bank account. What I do is to put it in coins (BTC, GRC, ETH, ...). So that's also a way to get to $100 in a 1-3 months time, by investing in GRCs. Now, I've got about 5,5k GRC & get paid regularly. Plan is to sell about 3k GRC for a new computer, as I didn't have time for that in Jan. So waiting till summer to do it! ;) non-profit org. Play4Life in Zagreb, Croatia, EU |

From your writing I assume that you have joined the grcpool: As I understand you should earn immediately GRC, and be paid once a day. It is correct for the SparcCoins you would need ERC20 Token Ethreum Wallet to retrieve to. |

I wish joining the Gridcoin team wasn't a requirement. I'm sure a lot more people would join if that requirement was not there. I also run FAH and Curecoin does not have a team requirement but the wallet ID needs to be in your user name. So still kind of starting over but can still contribute with team mates. But as you have two RX 480's, and assuming you aren't just running seti, you should be fine. From what I can tell BOINC shows the 1st GPU. I have a system that shows 2x 1070s but its really a 1070 and 1070Ti with the Ti being the 2nd GPU. |

OK, that could be it. But on my system the HD7770 is Device 0 and the RX480 is Device 1, but Boinc still reports the RX480. IDK, anyway the BOINC report on GPU's installed is not allways to be trusted. |

I've always understood the mechanism is that BOINC chooses the highest order PCIe bus enumeration for identifying the system cards. That is why my Host 8480062 shows it having four GTX 1060's when in reality it has one GTX 1060 and 3 GTX 1080's. The 1060 card is enumerated by the motherboard as PCIe bus #0A(10) while the 1080's are 5, 6, and 9 respectively.
