I went Blueberry picking this morning. There's a farm about 45 minutes from me that my mother and I went to for many years, and I've continued that tradition. We also used to pick strawberries at another farm, but blueberries are a lot easier on the knees and the back, and you don't have to leave the stems on, so I like blueberry harvesting the best. Anyway, it was awfully muggy this morning, but worth the effort.

Great pictures Gordon - Blueberries are a favourite fruit of mine. One year I picked far too many for immediate use so made some wine which went down down "all too well" ;-)

Thanks, Rob. I always think about that girl in Willy Wonka who turns into a big Blueberry.

I'd never eaten a blueberry until a little over a year ago. Oh, I'd had blueberry pancakes and muffins, but I'd never eaten just a plain blueberry. They're wonderful.

My chickens love them, too. I buy a huge bag of frozen blueberries to use in my fruit smoothies. I started giving some to the chickens and they loved them. Now that it's summer (100 degrees F) today, I let the girls eat them before they thaw. (Chickens can die from the heat very easily.)

Why is this tread showing up with a blue background on the Cafe SETI page? It's the only one like that.

All our cameras must be broken. ;-)

Here's one of my cats, Finn, looking out the window. He is an indoor/outdoor cat.

When it's hot outside and it rains, the windows steam up. I get to see where the slugs have been "slugging" on my patio window. These trails are completely invisible when the window is dry.

Well no both of my cameras work fine, and I take lots of pictures however I am just going through a slightly "slow" period.

Not really used to high temperatures and no rain for weeks on end, that doesn't happen in the UK!!

Sorting them and uploading to website takes time and effort. I am trying to start to get things in order, so here is the sunset tonight from my kitchen window..

The one thing I really miss about the Isle of Wight is I have no horizon here, but that shot was quite a good one.

That's a great shot of the owl, Gnu. Amazing that it's so sharp. If I'd tried that I'm sure it would have been blurry!

Can anyone identify this bush. I noticed it this summer on the side of our new home. It has a light lavender color and the blooms resemble a hibiscus. I didn't know what these were and that they would bloom at all until last month.

A Google image search suggest they are Floribunda roses. Pretty nice !

There is a privately owned, open to the public, 15,000 acre forest about 25 miles south of me, and I decided to roam around in it, this morning. When I was a kid, my parents used to take me there occasionally for a picnic.

Entrance to the forest:

Walkway into the tree canopy:

View from the walkway in the trees:

This deer spotted me. I wanted to get closer.

This was in a meadow. Reminded me of SETI:
