I want to use one of my schools servers to help with the seti project but I nor my teacher know what to do or where to begin. Not much to go off of but I hope you can explain. Sorry if this has been asked before/if this is not the right place to ask. |

Firstly, you need to make sure you have permission to run SETI on hardware that is not your own. Not getting authorization from the appropriate people (teacher's don't count) can result in you getting sued for stealing academic resources. There has been one infamous case in SETI's past where this happened, so the possibility is real. If you do have permission to run SETI, you will need root access to the server and install BOINC, then create an account (or use the one you posted here with) and attach to the SETI@home project. |
