what's you thinking 850? I'd probably go with 1000, overkill I know but....

Given a switch mode supply is most efficient around 50% of it's rated load, and up to 75% is still pretty good, a 1kW PSU would be just about right. 25% headroom is nice, 15% isn't enough IMHO.

I'm only pulling 380 watts and that's with a modest overclock (+112 MHz on memory). I knew this would be fine based on what the system was doing with a single card and the testing I had seen done by by others. Cards are stable at 53 decrees C. All in a home theater PC case :)
I think Nvidia quotes wattage with the card fully utilized both CUDA and the 640 Tensor cores. I don't believe this is touching the Tensor cores at all so each card is only pulling about 120 watts a piece.

Make sense.
I'd forgotten about the unused Tensor cores, although if the mining makes use of them then the load will increase significantly.

Running the Seti Linux special application can result in cards running at (or very close to) their rated maximum power levels.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll not use this setup to test Linux SETI.

Maybe if you test with only one card. Will be interesting to know the performance of the CUDA90 builds on it.

I think it's going to be a while before any software understands what the Tensor cores are and how to use them. I bet its the crypto miners that figure that out first.

Too bad he's crunching for bitcoin right now. Would have liked to have seen how they do with the BLC and APs on those cards. Most of what I see are Arecibo work units.

Finally found a benchmark that makes use of the Tensor cores.

From AnandTech Titan V preview.

Thanks Grant, figured it would be Anandtech first to deep dive into the Compute capability of Titan V.
