Processing of S@H on my computer is much slower than usual. There are 77 tasks in progress, so I set it to "no new tasks."

In addition to S@H, it's crunching POGS and Asteroids. They seem to be running fine.

But the average S@H work is about half of what it normally is. I wonder why that is so?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Do you mean work (as in number of workunits) or credit? Credit/WU is down quite a bit recently (10-20% at least, is my impression) because of the different nature of the work units being sent out (may be temporary) and the working of Credit New, about which there are several threads.

I think I mean my Recent Average Credit, which is almost half of what is normally is. And, subjectively, tasks seem to be progressing slowly.

Yep.
Arecibo WUs are processed faster & pay more credit. GBT WUs take longer to process and pay less credit. Currently we've been getting GBT WUs that take longer than usual ones to process, and so pay even less credit. Combined with there being more GBT WUs than Arecibo compared to a couple of months ago, combined with the messed up system that is Credit New, and Seti being the lesser of your 3 projects will result in a big drop in your Seti RAC.

Are you crunching GPU units too? I found these were ridiculously slow so disabled GPU processing and my RAC recovered quickly.

Steve.
