What has been done in some days is maybe too much to mention here, but these are some of the FACTS:
1. change of the name of the Boinc/Seti website,
2. accelerating the pages available in the forums,
3. improving the way the settings of "Preferences" is working,
4. make changes in "Your Account" page,
5. changing links in webpages,
6. being able to start really downloading WU's.

And I am convinced a lot of work that can not be seen from distance.

Keep going people, it is moving in the good way !!!

Greetings from Belgium.

Congrads guys... Keep up the great work.

I'm still ready to complain that I haven't been able to receive any Wu's, but I hope it won't be long before the problems are solved.

So far so good guys..

I have been able to download WU's since yesterday. Maybe you can try once again to get some.

Yes I actually got a few just now...

But I can't figure out how to setup a computer
under the Seti options ... Or register my cpu with the
program. I can 't figure it out at all.

Its reallly frustrating.

On the website you need to go to "Your Account" and choose "General Preferences". In this one, check the setting "Do work while computer is in use" and make the appropriate choice. Make also the choice you want in "Do work only between the hours of", the default being from 0 to 0 hours.
Another setting you might check is the "Keep enough work on disk to last between". A good setting to start with is 0.2 as minimum. The maximum you want to set is depending on how quick your PC will process the WU's. I would recommend to start with a maximum setting of 1 day and have a look once processing start how quick a WU will be processed. Once you know this you can increase the maximum setting. Keep in mind each WU has a "Report Deadline" as you can see in the "Work" tab of the GUI. This deadline is 14 days starting at the day the WU has been downloaded.
Once you made the changes in the "General Preferences" you have to use in the tab "Projects" of the GUI the "Update" function in order to make the changes inside Boinc on your PC.

If you have any other question(s), you can post it under the forum "Questions and Problems" / "Getting Started".

Greetings from Belgium.

Ya, the WU's are flying through just great now. And I'm very pleased with how much faster the website is running now too. I'm looking forward to the rest of it coming on line, I guess it's time to try and get a couple more computers running. :)

Well, the weekend is coming to an end, and things are back in slowdown mode! (the website atleast - it's as it was last week to me!)

I'd bet that many folks just shutdown BOINC for the weekend based on last week and the messages on friday.

So, all boinc may have really done is to
1) gotten people shutdown their boinc for the weekend
2) gotten a bunch to go back to Seti classic
3) gotten a bunch to go to "predictor" so they won't be hitting seti for a few days!

The next 48 hours will really tell! (monday is a holiday in the US)

I find it distressing that there is no way to determine how many WU's were sent to any of my systems! There's no way in "your account" to see total results or results per CPU, much less pending credit!

I'm sorry to burst in on this "cheerleader" thread, but BOINC wasn't ready for this launch, and at best, they are applying band-aids right now.

Seems that they had a great way to limit their exposure on this whole mess, days, or a week back. Stop allowing new users, and stop promoting it on the REAL(today) (SETI Classic) website! Heck, the users overloaded the system on 6/24 and they let it continue for 10 days!

Yes Woody, it looks like things are back to Normal again, I haven't been able to download any more WU's since last night. So maybe there was only so many WU's to give out and once they dried up that was it then, I don't know.

I'm back to "no work from project" too! (heck, I though it wouldn't happen till monday!)

Hey, they made the statement about going back to Classic, after being messed up for a week, at the beginning of a long weekend in the US.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that far fewer folks would be hitting the server, and, as a result, fewer asking for work or hitting the webpages over the weekend!

How many "registered" BOINC users just gave up and won't come back?

Great job UCB - ya... right!

There is one thing I can tell.
I have been sitting on my PC during the weekend and although in US they have a Big Anniversary going on, as well as Saturday as Sunday people at Berkeley have been working as the website was shutdown for maintenance these 2 days for some 10 minutes.

Greetings from Belgium.
