Why does the 1080ti get 8.22 wu's, but the 780ti gets only 8.0? Could anyone please tell me this? Thank you |

Stock apps will be automatically managed by BOINC. If you want to run optimised apps then for Windows the optimsed apps are avaialble from Mike's World: http://mikesworld.eu/download.html Lunatics WinXX 0.45 Beta 6 is the latest, download the 32 or 64 bit version to match your Windows version. When installing make sure you match your processor type, Nvidia SOG is the one you want for the GPU. |

MIke's World (Lunatics) opptimsed apps are v 8.00. They are still faster than the default app from SETI@home which is v8.22 I believe. You should see Local:setiathome_v8 8.00 in BOINC manager if Lunatics installed correctly (local is the key word). After 11 work units have been returned and validated you will see the new estimated time to complete go down. Make a note of a sample queued work units remaining time. Then wait for 11 to be validated and redo the sample and you should see the improvement in time to crunch. |

Thank you, David. Although I still wonder why no ocl work units come to this computer with the two 780ti's and on the other computer although it is getting very nice 8.22ocl units, but it does not recognize both 1080ti's. Perhaps you may have an answer. |

Why does the 1080ti get 8.22 wu's, but the 780ti gets only 8.0? In the machine you are running with the 780ti, you are running cuda 32. Those by default say 8.00 MB in the same of the application in the app_info.xml The 1080Ti machine is running 8.22 because it is running a newer SoG application. Is it really important in regard to the name of the work unit? ie 8.00 vs 8.22 not really. They just signify which version of the application you are using. You could possibly install cuda 50 on the 780ti machine but it would probably only read 8.20? Not sure since I haven't gone back and see what the installer calls the work units in some time. But I would not worry about the number name of the work unit as long as it validates. I have machines running 8.20 but I installed the newest applications. I have another machine running an older application and manually changed the name to 8.22. So I would not worry about the name as long as the application is correct. |

I was hoping to acquire the ocl units so they would run faster. It lists this in "computer": Coprocessors [2] NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti (3072MB) driver: 355.60 OpenCL: 1.2 |

You would need to use the installer to install the correct application for your system. When you use the installer, you would need to select the SoG application. |
