I have 2 1080 ti's, but only one seems to work for SETI. I wonder what am I doing wrong?

You need to add to your cc_config.xml

<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>

By defoult Boinc uses only the most capable GPU.

open a notepad

copy the following

<cc_config>
<options>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
</options>
</cc_config>

click save as

select location as follows local disk --> programdata (maybe hidden so you will need to unhide folder) --->BOINC

in file name type in cc_config.xml

in save as type change to all files (*.*)

now you can either restart boinc and it should read the file or you can tell BOINC to reread config files.

Check your event log and make sure you see that it found the cc_config.xml

I wonder if I need to use a bigger power supply then when I had two 980ti's? The computer seems to stop for a brief minute about every 2-3 hours since the second gpu 1080 ti was placed in.

Go to the windows symbol left lower corner, click and hold, now in popup menu click on computer, then under Hard Disk Drive click Local Disk

The PSU is inside the computer case. You would need to look at the powersource and see if you can see where it list the power output of the unit. Unfortunately, it is sometimes on the underside of the unit.

Just curious, did you build your computer or buy it from someone? I only ask as most builders will know what PSU they put in. If you bought it then I can understand why you might not know what it was. Either way, it's always a good thing to know what it is.

Both cards are rated at 250W.
However, if you were using the 980Ti before the SoG application was released, then then new GTX 1080Tis will be using more power than the older cards as the SoG application does considerably more work than the older CUDA application.
I'd suggest the bare minimum PSU (Power Supply Unit) for that system would be 750W, 850W would be a better choice. Actual maximum power usage when crunching Arecibo shorties would probably be around the 500W region.

The rating label for the PSU is usually visible when you remove the cover off of the side of the computer.

Does the 1st few lines of the event log mention both GPUs? W/o the cc_config file edit it will mention the 2nd card but say its not allowed by config or something along those lines.

Just a very basic thought, I lost one of my video cards and did not know it until I saw only one working for SETI. Are you sure both cards are working?

/edit: Scratch that, it looks like SETI sees two cards.

Both gpu's work in Primegrid without a hitch. Also when I look at the info on the computer under the SETI project, both gpu's are listed.
