If only they had listened to Douglas MacArthur 67 years ago, when the US was the ONLY country with working nuclear weapons none of this would be happening today.
Incorrect.

While American experts had predicted that the Soviet Union would not have nuclear weapons until the mid-1950s, the first Soviet bomb was detonated on August 29, 1949, shocking the entire world.

Yeah I know but that was not an operational unit. It was several years before they had a useful stockpile of nuclear weapons. One bomb with no way to deliver it is not a threat.
July 16, 1945 to August 6, 1945, length of time necessary to build a delivery platform.

I would add successfully deliver the bomb to that.

We still do not know or seen how much accuracy Kim's missiles have. So far he has only lobbed a couple into the sea.

And since we don't know what the target was we don't know if he missed by an inch or a mile.

Just read this story in the Sun online , looks like there's been a " bit of a problem " in North Korea
KIM'S DISASTER North Korea nuclear base COLLAPSES killing at least 200 people, local reports claim, amid fears of massive radioactive leak . The collapse happened at the Punggye-ri nuclear test site in the country's north-east on October 10, according to reports .
A TUNNEL at an underground North Korea nuclear site has collapsed with up to 200 people killed, according to reports. The collapse happened at the Punggye-ri nuclear test site in the north-east of the country on October 10, according to Japan’s TV Asahi.

If it happened on the 10th wouldn't any massive radioactive leak have been detected by now. It's in the northeast of the country not that far from China and Russia.

To a reporter and a headline writer even background radiation is massive.

The test triggered a 6.3-magnitude earthquake that day and multiple tremors have been detected from the area since then. Satellite images obtained by 38 North, which specializes in North Korea issues, showed several landslides occurred after the Sept. 3 test. Also a possible “collapse chimney crater” was seen on Mount Mantap, possibly caused by the underground tests.

It’s unclear if the mountain will collapse in the near future, but the report said there was “significant cracking” and “irreversible strain” on the land because of the nuclear test.

Some experts also said Mantap was suffering from “tired mountain syndrome” due to the stress on the ground, the Washington Post reported. Chinese scientists have also warned the mountain could collapse and release radiation. Radioactive xenon-133 was detected in South Korea after the test.
As I posted the day after the test, Chinese scientists have been monitoring the mountain for just such an event. If there is a radioactive plume that spreads over China that will be the end of Dim's nuclear ambitions if not the end of himself.

Like their American adversary, North Korea’s intelligence analysts assign measures of analytic confidence to their intelligence sources—namely, the statements of US officials, power-brokers and other influential voices on US Asia policy. High-confidence intelligence can serve as effective guideposts for policy decisions. For example, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper’s claim that North Korea will never relinquish its nuclear weapons likely sent a strong signal to North Korean intelligence officials that this represents the summary judgment of the American IC at-large based on its vast instruments of collection. North Korea may have read his opinion as “we, the US IC, assess with high confidence that North Korea will never relinquish nuclear weapons.” When viewed alongside the absence of US/South Korean military action, Pyongyang could have been convinced that such an intelligence judgment may have led the US to abandon the goal of denuclearizing North Korea. In other words, the DNI may have unwittingly served as a credible, high-confidence source for North Korean intelligence on US intentions. It is entirely possible that this may have emboldened North Korea to continue its aggressive pursuit of missile and nuclear development.

Radiation plume.......how 'bout we throw in a volcano erupting.....

http://www.iflscience.com/environment/a-tunnel-collapse-at-north-koreas-nuclear-test-site-may-have-killed-200-people/

....." A volcano in the region called Mount Paektu seems particularly at risk of collapse from the repeated tests. Satellite imagery in the area, meanwhile, has shown that the mountain above the test site has experienced several landslides and aftershocks".....

...."A large cavity up to 60 meters (197 feet) across under the mountain could leak radiation if tests are continued, while there is an ever-present threat of a volcanic eruption nearby from continued testing"........

Perhaps Mother Earth will solve the Dim Kim Sum problem for everyone{except unfortunately those in the path of the eruption).

It's about 70 miles from the test site at Mount Mantap to the volcano Mount Paektu.
Could an atom bomb really trigger an eruption of a volcano at such a long distance?

Only a geologist or volcanologist could attempt to answer that, but since these tests do cause seismic events I would lean towards yes.

Sanctions appear to be working...

GENEVA (Reuters) - North Korea called on Friday for a halt to what it called “brutal sanctions”, saying the measures - imposed after its latest nuclear test - constituted genocide.

“Today the U.S.-led racket of brutal sanctions and pressure against the DPRK constitutes contemporary human rights violation and genocide,” the North Korean mission to the United Nations in Geneva said in a statement.

The sanctions regime “threatens and impedes the enjoyment by the people of DPRK of their human rights in all sectors”, it said.

The call for an immediate end to the sanctions comes as U.S. President Donald Trump sets off on a trip to Asia - including China, South Korea and Japan - looking for help to pressure North Korea to stand down from the nuclear crisis.

Working? They have been saying the same thing since they restarted their reactors and began their present program to become a Nuke state, which they now are. It is just more hot air for western ears.
