Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Maybe I should look around on ebay and start collecting all those medals I missed.

Or, I could just start over....................
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
NOT......LOL.

I think a bad habit is sometimes easier to stop altogether than just cut back on it. I remember trying to give up smoking and would ration myself to say just 5 a day. I'd smoke the 5 and then carry on and finish the packet anyway. In the end I just went cold turkey and haven't smoked for over 10 years.

Basically I'm a beer and wine man, I don't touch the hard stuff. That's not to say I don't enjoy a G&T now and again because I do. But it can be all to easy to have a couple of glasses of beer, get the taste for it and want more. Then before you know it you've had a session. I know some that don't drink a drop all week then go out every Saturday night and get slaughtered!

I think moderation is the key factor here. If you don't have the self discipline to restrict yourself to sensible levels of alcohol i.e. 21 units a week for men, and 14 units for women (UK recommendations), then best not to do it at all.

In the case of Mark, many people only saw the man up front, not the man inside. Yes he'd regularly go on public 6 &12 hour timeouts every w/e, but how many saw him on a Wednesday over in number crunching gladly helping out a newbie with a technical problem, or running a fund raiser. Many people only use the cafe and never got the whole picture.

Mark and my friends know....Once a friend always a friend, no matter what.

As a Mod or in private, I had to deal with a lot of s***, but I have not yet felt the need to block someone.

Thanks, Chris.
And thanks, Ulihon.

Yes, 'tis true.
Some did know a bit more of who I really was and remained friends regardless.

Meow.

A very big thumbs up to that, Chris....but even that would result in flak, elsewhere. It wasn't that hard to 'see' the true Kittyman, but some people just saw what they wanted to.

Congratulations Mark on FIVE MONTHS!

I KNOW you could do it and will not fall back to the bad days of past.

One day at a time leads to one week at a time and leads to one month at a time and leads to one year.... etc.

Here is to a remaining lifetime of Mark being sober!

Thanks, Iona.
As I said earlier....that is part of my past now. And I do not hold any ill will towards others who handled my bad behavior in the manner they wished or needed to. Whether they shall ever forgive me remains to be seen.

And thank you very much, Dr Who Fan.
One day at a time, yup.
I do not intend to slip and fall. Right now I am very confidant I shall not.
But rest assured that after knowing this side of things again, if I ever did, it would not last very long!!

Meeeeeeeeeeeeow.....there goes that kittyman again!
