It seems that tasks are harder to get for GPU even when the Server Status shows 648,902 Crunching@EVGA The Number One Team in the BOINC Community. Folding@EVGA The Number One Team in the Folding@Home Community. |

It seems that tasks are harder to get for GPU even when the Server Status shows 648,902 Must be a Arecibo VLAR storm in that buffer. Which means any Nvidia gear won't get any tasks for some time |

Because you have Nvidia cards, it is harder to get tasks if the splitters are sending out Arecibo VLARs which they will not send to that card type. Also, the splitters have been malfunctioning since last December after a failed update for ATI cards. That causes the servers to "forget" about your task requests. The problem has been discussed widely at Number Crunching but nothing has been done about it by the project scientists. We have just grumbled annoyingly in the the threads and developed a tedious work around that always works. Read this message. Message 81776 It discussed about a "ghost" recovery protocol but it also works to get the servers to "wake up" and send you work when you request it after performing the protocol. The servers will happily let your cache drop to zero if you don't take an active role in maintaining your cache level. I just reviewed my four crunchers GPU caches and they are filled almost exclusively with Arecibo "shorties" So not a case of Arecibo VLARS being your reason as far as I can tell. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

It seems that tasks are harder to get for GPU even when the Server Status shows 648,902 Is it even asking for any GPU work? You're attached to a lot of projects, and BOINC could just be doing other work to meet your Resource Share settings. Grant Darwin NT |

Well I dumped all my ATI and AMD Graphics Cards so if Seti is going to Drop NVIDIA then when that happens I will have to drop Seti. What a Bummer. Crunching@EVGA The Number One Team in the BOINC Community. Folding@EVGA The Number One Team in the Folding@Home Community. |

Well I dumped all my ATI and AMD Graphics Cards so if Seti is going to Drop NVIDIA then when that happens I will have to drop Seti. Since Seti hasn't dropped Nvidia, and since you haven't answered any of the questions people trying to help you have asked, and since your systems that are still contacting Seti are still getting work, and since you can still use the CPU even if your GPUs weren't getting work (which they are), there's not much anyone can do to help you. Your other projects maybe preventing you from getting GPU work from here as I've had no problems at all (expect for running out of work during the weekly outages). Cheers. |
