I know that it is still early on in this rolling disaster named Irma, but has anyone heard about if there had been any damage to Arecibo from the storm. From the little news I had heard, it sounded like Puerto Rico avoided a direct hit but still sustained somewhat significant infrastructure damage.

I believe our new data from there has been slowing down significantly recently, do we even still pull data out of there any longer? If so, anyone heard if the storm had any serious negative consequences to the telescope? I know compared to all the human effects of the storm, this is a minor question/issue, but thought I would toss it out there for discussions sake.

I heard they are phasing Arecibo out in favor for the new world's largest Chinese radio telescope.

Unlikely for a few years as the Chinese are still commissioning that massive dish. The current plans are for the Allen & the GBT to come fully on stream in the next few months.

I checked in with both links above and when clicking on an empty spot at windy.com, there is a typo error in that page which should not be there.

Repeating it a short while later, it became a little hard to get back at, but should be the vertical bar with the filled circle at the bottom, which I first thought was a zoom-in function,
but rather could be pulled with the mouse and next moved around.

Here the typo was apparently in the native translation of the page and two letters of a four letter word had been inverted.

Needs a fix here in my opinion, because here it updated a bit quicker than with earth.nullschool.net when moving around.
