Since the previous thread is so far down the link I can't find it and most probably locked. I thought to start a new one. I've had at least 1 person here and a few on FB wanting to see so here are a few of my rigs This one is my 6950X 10/20 @4.0Ghz, 64GB DDR4 @ 3.47Ghz on an ASUS X99e ws MoBo, 1600W PSU, Quad 1080Ti FTW3 Hybrid machine The next one is my current #1 machine (only because it's been here the longest so it's RAC is higher) 5960X @ 4.0 GHz, 32 GB DDR4 @3.2Ghz on an ASUS X99e ws MoBo , 1600W PSB, Quad 1080Ti SC2 Hybrid Ok, that some of my computers. I had a Newegg email ad this morning and was surprised to see GTX 1080Ti Hybrids for sale. I thought you were having troubles finding those and then realized you were talking about the add-on hybrid kits which I believe you said weren't being made anymore. There was a shortage before the WOW on the 1080Ti Hybrids, only 1 per family. Newegg and EVGA were out of weeks. Figures they now have enough, lol... |

But I thought that only the mid-range cards like the 1060 and 1070 were desirable for mining based on cost per watt/price/hash rate ratio and that the high-end, high performance, high cost cards were mostly available. Shortages on mid level cards caused a shortage on high end ones. As people were forced to buy them just to build a system. High end are terrible for mining. 1070s seem to be the sweet spot for mining. |

That explains why I paid $507CAD for my ASUS Dual 08G in November and now they are still up at $598 !! I think I got it on a $40 off sale ... I have been waiting for them to come back down. But the 1080s still to be holding still and not increasing. |

Here's a quick and very dirty one I threw together just to see if it could be done: Minimalism at its ultimate! This was during commissioning, normally it runs without the monitor, keyboard or mouse connected. Everything from my spares and trash box Phenom x6 8GB RAM 16GB USB stick Asus motherboard (I can't recall which one, but it works) Two Asus GTX780 700W PSU (my spare) It sits on the boxes so the hot air from the GPUs doesn't blow into the air-in on my daily driver which is lurking in the background. Known to me as "Naked" for obvious reasons. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
