I have some issues with donated GTX 570.
It started as "can't unnplug GPU device" (or smth alike) dialog boxes on IvyBridge host with iGPU and GT9400 enabled (complex config).
Then it extended to complete monitor switch off so I had to pull it out of host.

Now I decided to put it into another host with single PCI-E slot so less complex config.
It's APU-based one and embedded ATi GPU auto-disabled when PCI-E GPU device presents. So host has only GTX 570 active.

Latest available driver installed: 365.19

Running through benchmarking I encountered complete host freeze (NumLock on keyboard didn't respond) with monitor black screen (display goes into power saving mode).
It seems CUDA 32-50 apps pass OK but when OpenCL SoG app starts it freezes. It can pass wisgen tasks (w/o any real OpenCL based computations but all memory buffer allocations and enumerations present). But dies on PG0009.

Didn't try other tasks so far. On main it currently works with CUDA32 and it seems works OK.

Not an NVidia person, so can only recommend general steps.

-Use DDU to remove driver and re-install one downloaded directly from NVidia
-Use GPU_Caps_Viewer to test OpenGl and OpenCl
-Try an earlier version of the driver, start with one released at about the time the card was released, test card with GPU_Caps_viewer. Then upgrade to next release, and test again. Continue until you find a version that fails tests and then revert to the last one that worked.

DDU is not required to to a "clean" installation of nVidia or Geforce drivers - use the "advanced" options during installation, which has the option to do a clean installation. This is essential when removing any MS supplied driver, or you are going back in driver version level.
According to the nVidia website the current Geforce/nVidia driver is 385.28 or 3.85.41
There is a "feature" with some of the drivers in the 340 to 370 range that prevents older cards like the GTX570 from running CUDA properly.

I'm running a 570 and 580 in the same PC on driver 358.91, and they've been stable with a medium overclock for ages.no reboots or freezes at all.

Just a personal note: all the latest NVidia drivers remove the old version with the "Default" setting. I have not had to use the Advanced Install for some time now. (and I get a lot of updates from W10)
