Anyone been able to get an APU eg. A10-xxxx or A6-xxxx to run at full speed with the cpu's and gpu at the same time?

I used to have an A10-6700 and now I have an A6-7310. Both refuse to run both the cpu and the gpu at full speed at the same time. I got to poking around with the HWINFO64 and if the gpu is running at what appears to be full speed then the cpu's are running at maybe half speed. The results mean my cpu's are taking on the order of 12 hours per task. I have a GT 710 that used to take about 3 1/2 hours for a gpu task and I think that is the right ballpark for the "R4" gpu I have. But a 2Ghz cpu with AVX (although I am not yet running Lunatics) shouldn't be taking 12 hours. After looking at the HWINFO64 cpu results it dawned on me that this would be a case for "-use_sleep" and its related parameters so I am experimenting with them now. Does anyone have any ideas about what would allow the cpu's and the gpu to run at near full speed at the same time? Thank you, Tom A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

IIRC Raistmer tried this and found that running integrated GPU on a APU will always slow down CPU processing. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |
