Weirds? Words?

And how do you feel about the "English only" movement?

Why should we post in a thread when we don't even know what the title means?

This comes up every so often in our history.

First time was 1789. When those drafting our Constitution proposed that English be the Official and Required Language of the United States of America.

They voted it down.

Doesn't that make the RAISE act questionable where it questions the applicants knowledge of English.

And that assumes that any test of English is actually a test of English. Many Brits would fail an American test of English. That is a fact, and I can produce a case where that happened at university entrance grade exams.

Eye roo da day wenz wee was werdin dree!

Which version of "English".
Even in the UK there are probably "57 Varieties", and it's not very pure. It's full of Latin, German dialects (Anglo-Saxon), Scandiwegian (Vikings), French (Normans) and all sorts of words we 'borrowed' when we had an Empire.
And that doesn't even cover the bastardisation of the language performed by Americans, Canadians and other "English speaking" nations.
