Red Herrings smell bad.
Oh. Herrings in the Baltic Sea:)
We love herrings here among the countries around the sea.
Russians love to make them red by making a sallad of them with beets, pickled cucumber, red onions and Smetana.
Babushkas Russian Herring!

Surely Trump and family like that as well:)

Impeachment will never happen............period.
After the mid-terms you might not be saying that.

I will be sure to remind you of this post 'after the mid terms'. And you be sure to remind me when the fantasy impeachment actually occurs.

As Mr Mercer puts it.......HAR!

U.S. Constitution - Article 2 Section 4
"The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."
That is, both serious crimes including betrayals and bribes, but even misdemeanors are prosecutable.
The difficulty in interpreting lies in the word "misdemeanors".
Shoplifting is a misdemeanor.

And using a state credit card for personal uses is also a misdemeanor when you are a civil Officer of any States,
What misdemeanors have Trump done?
Many of course but I see many problems with that the constitution cannot draw the line between high Crimes and Misdemeanors!

One way of bypassing 45.

Frustrated foreign leaders bypass Washington in search of blue-state allies

BRUSSELS — California Gov. Jerry Brown’s recent trip to the capital of the European Union had all the trappings of a visit by a head of state — he even got an upgraded title.

“Mr. President, welcome in Brussels,” Brown (D) was told this month as he exited his Mercedes van in front of the European Parliament in the spot usually reserved for national leaders. Then he was whisked off to a day of hearings, testimony and high-level meetings in the heart of European power.

Nearly a year into the Trump presidency, countries around the world are scrambling to adapt as the White House has struggled to fill key government positions, scaled back the State Department and upended old alliances. Now some nations are finding that even if they are frustrated by President Trump’s Washington, they can still prosper from robust relations with the California Republic and a constellation of like-minded U.S. cities, some of which are bigger than European countries.

Brown’s 10-day trip to Europe, which ended Tuesday, was just the latest in a growing transatlantic back-and-forth that bypasses the Trump-era White House. In July, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio headlined a protest in Hamburg against the Group of 20. Several European countries have stationed ambassadors in Silicon Valley to boost trade ties

How many more countries are going to make agreements with individual, or groups of similar states, such as the West coast or New England.

If 45 remains in office could this lead to a break up of the USA?

Hate to break it to you Nick, individual States have been making individual trade deals with other countries for better than half a century.....look it up. Colorado Beef, Lamb and Pork, Nebraska Corn and Kansas Wheat have been involved in many such agreements in competition with other States. As long as it has the blessing of the State Department such deals are pretty commonplace.

Perhaps Major Kong would be kind enough to again explain the requirements that need to be met for Impeachment and what the founders meant by 'high crimes and misdemeanors' for Jan's benefit and edification along with any other readers unfamiliar with those points.

Unfortunately for those seeking their 'safe place' since the election there has been no evidence presented that would qualify.

Give it up and go have a glass of wine and a walk in the woods with Hill-liary. (Theres a lot of Dims 'Out in the Woods' these days).

Requirement for Impeachment, resolution calling for same to pass House, simple majority.
Requirement for removal from office, Impeachment plus conviction in the Senate by a two-thirds majority.

Doesn't matter what the founders meant by 'high crimes and misdemeanors'. It matters what the current Congress believes it to mean. They are free to assign any meaning they wish to it. There is no judicial review, no SCOTUS, no appeal court, just pure raw politics and bribes, er campaign contributions. They are also free to conduct the "trial" however they see fit allowing or barring whatever "evidence" or "testimony" they see fit with whatever rules they see fit to impose, all such rules by simple majority.

It still AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN...........................................................................................................period!

Senators can also be removed, perhaps a photo of one groping a sleeping woman on a USO flight would rise to the level of sufficient evidence of Moral Turpitude.

Franken is a slimy creature of the swamp who will be protected by the other 99 slimy creatures who dwell there.

VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBENTS! ALL!

The American people want a congress that works for their interests, not one that can't get out of it's own way.

Why any Democrat or Never Trumper would would wish a future Democrat President to be under the control/intimidation of their political opponents in Congress, is a good question.
The already are and have been since the Constitution became effective. Andrew Johnson and William Jefferson Clinton being examples. Are you proposing an Amendment?

In most all instances of 'power' in the US Federal Government, the President *should* be under the control of Congress, esp. the House (the People's elected representatives in Washington D.C.)

The President has almost no power that is not subject to Congress. About the only one NOT subject to the President either being told no by Congress or having to get Congress' permission is the power to issue Pardons. That is the only one that exclusively belongs to the President.

You want one person being a 'Leader'? Go move to a monarchy or a dictatorship somewhere (examples being Saudi Arabia or the DPRK).

IMHO the President could gain a great deal by turning the other cheek on trivial comments by ungrateful persons.....

"The quality of mercy is not strained.
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.
Tis mightiest in the mightiest; it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown.
His scepter shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings.
But mercy is above this sceptered sway;
It is enthroned in the hearts of kings;
It is an attribute of God himself;
And earthly power doth then show like God's
When mercy seasons justice."
