WASHINGTON — As President Trump’s voter integrity commission looks under rocks for possible voter malfeasance, its members might want to examine a presidential nominee awaiting confirmation by the Senate Finance Committee.

Documents indicate that Jeffrey Gerrish, the president’s pick to be a deputy United States Trade Representative, moved from Virginia to Maryland last year, but opted in November to vote in the more competitive state of Virginia than his bright blue new home.

The Senate Finance Committee, which has been considering Mr. Gerrish’s nomination, was briefed on the matter on Tuesday, including the fact that Mr. Gerrish had almost certainly voted illegally, according to three Democratic congressional aides familiar with the briefing. Public records back up that notion.

Given Mr. Trump’s intense focus on alleged widespread voter fraud in last year’s election — the president has claimed that millions of people voted illegally, without evidence — Democrats are likely to pounce on the misstep to try to sink Mr. Gerrish’s nomination.

Julia Lawless, a spokeswoman for the committee’s chairman, Senator Orrin G. Hatch, Republican of Utah, said she could not comment on Mr. Gerrish’s voting history, but that the committee would continue to examine his record.

There have been more than enough people look at this myth over the last twenty years, that it should not warrant any further investigations for the next 50 years.
And it is not the democrats that have a problem with it. It is Trump and the Republicans, with setting up of the Election Fraud Panel headed by Kris W. Kobach, the Kansas secretary of state.
And if you can remember back just to the 7th of this month and their announcement about 6,000+ out-of-state voters. You will see it was debunked in just a few hours.

Show me anywhere that has any proof of more that a handful of fraudulent votes in any election in the US. And you can have your full investigation. until then it is just a myth and would be just a waste of money that could be spent on a thousand and one things that would benefit the country.

I did say over the last 20 years, not just the last election. And in that time there have been plenty, do a search and you will find them, along with voter suppression.
Voter suppression brings up a finding for Florida that says Bush shouldn't have won in 2000 (hanging chads year),

As a result of the settlement, the company that the Florida legislature entrusted with the purge—the Boca Raton–based Database Technologies (DBT)—ran the names on its 2000 purge list using stricter criteria. The exercise turned up 12,000 voters who shouldn’t have been labeled felons. That was 22 times Bush’s 537-vote margin of victory.

No one could ever determine precisely how many voters who were incorrectly labeled felons were turned away from the polls. But the US Civil Rights Commission launched a major investigation into the 2000 election fiasco, and its acting general counsel, Edward Hailes, did the math the best that he could. If 12,000 voters were wrongly purged from the rolls, and 44 percent of them were African-American, and 90 percent of African-Americans voted for Gore, that meant 4,752 black Gore voters—almost nine times Bush’s margin of victory—could have been prevented from voting.

If anything it is not voter fraud that needs looking at but the effects of voter suppression and gerrymandering. And isn't it interesting that the states that shout loudest about voter fraud are in general those states the suppress votes and adjust the parishes to ensure they have a better that 50:50 chance of winning.

[edit] Bush ordered the Justice department to crackdown on voter fraud, in 2007 after 5 years of investigation, it turned up virtually no evidence of any organised effort to skew the elections.
