I thought we might not hear from you for the next few days, Florida officials begin ordering evacuations as Hurricane Irma intensifies to a Category 5 storm

Stay safe.

It appears you are lacking in any sympathy, morality or ethics for the dead.

The lack of morality and ethics lies with Houston's political establishment.
Edit:
20 years ago I saw predictions of these kind of extreme events I say the leadership in the city to take precautions is a major factor of this disaster and they should be held accountable. This could have been mitigated but they chose a Darwinian solution.

Just in case he isn't around, I think that he meant that it was wishful thinking to suggest that a natural disaster was a political activist . At least, that's the way I interpret it.

And building Large Cities, while awaiting the "Big One" (Earthquake). Which will destroy most buildings and kill many.

We on the left coast are at least trying to something about it, Is Florida?

First Harvey, next Irma. Both impacting red states. Coincidence? Divine retribution?

Wishful thinking I'd say. har!

Tell that to the dead victim's of Harvey and the future dead victim's of Irma. Tell that to the people of the Caribbean, who are possibly dying now or will be dying.

Tell that to the families of the dead.

Sorry j mercer...

It appears you are lacking in any sympathy, morality or ethics for the dead.

The families of the dead would use, quite correctly, stronger words.

I do not care what you think of me. It has nothing to do with the topic. Please try to stay on topic. mmm... Ok

As to Divine retribution, I'm not a believer, so it is wishful thinking to me.

Har!... Next...

The ONLY sane thing to do is to NOT build cities in dangerous areas... If you live in a dangerous area, move. (I did... Houston to DFW, decades ago, because of bad memories of a Cat 5 hurricane that a Tropical Storm brought back).

It only takes one major hurricane to make a believer out of you. Same with earthquakes, or at least it SHOULD...

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power.

Yep, the same with a good volcano, the planet is dangerous and how we prepare for it can be critical. Will we ever be totally prepared, no but we should try to do what we can.

Still no citing of the "Total Ban on Muslims"...............was that a misremembered item? Or a misconstrued news story?

Or was it a concocted lie? ..................................

It was removed very shortly after posting but the internet never forgets...
Edit: Make that "after being pointed out..." It resurfaced and was then deleted again later.

Yep, but truth doesn't matter to many of those who support the orange one, the only thing that matters is their xenophobic feelings.

Someone name a place on this Earth that is 100% safe. Then, let's all move there.

betreger...

The "Big One" will sink parts of California. In addition to destroying Cities and killing people.

Those in California and inhabiting the Pacific Rim. Are in the same denial as all Civilizations are.

Ok

Where's the safest place in the world? I sure do not know of one.

If there ever was one every body would be trying to live there. Paradise any one... Har

Do you know what a transform fault is? Obviously not.

BTW you can put a building on a shake table and design it to stay in one piece.
You might be able to put a building in a wind tunnel and design it to stay in one piece, except for every other thing that flies into it from other buildings.
There isn't any need to put a building in the middle of a lake, we know how that turns out.
They tell everyone it is the flooding that does the killing in a typhoon. Essentially all of Florida is a flood plain.

Might be a floodplain but not much of a risk of flooding.

While Irma is on her way to South Florida, Trump will discuss tax reform and tax cuts...
"Will be going to North Dakota today to discuss tax reform and tax cuts. We are the highest taxed nation in the world - that will change."

Highest taxed nation in the world ????
There is 30! OECD countries that have higher taxes than the US.
Only 3 have less taxes!

Or another way to put it.

Facts must never stand in the way of a good fantasy; it is how you make government worse and more oppressive.

If the LA Times is correct then as about a quarter of the DACA people live in CA, then The GOP might be in for a bumpy ride there.
Trump's DACA decision could have a sweeping effect on who controls the House in 2018, especially in California

Or The Reaction outside of California will be different.

For some inexplicable reason. California really believes that their way, will be the future of the rest of the Country.

Actually it surprises me that CA, and maybe along with the rest of the west coast, haven't told Washington DC where to stick their policies and secede. My limited time in the US convinced me that CA is different from the rest of the US.

Because they, like any other State, could not survive with out Federal tax dollars. Armies, Navies, and infrastructures, etc. are very expensive.
... and still I fear, and still I dare not laugh at the Mad Man!
