I've heard of the alt-right which is an attempt to sanitise Nazi's, racists, homophobes etc, but what does "alt-left" mean?

I have no problem with a removal. Especially if they are located in a State Capital Building, or other place of honor. A Replacement to an area where people can visit and understand our history. Both the good and bad. Is the Non Orwellian solution.

History should not be erased by any means, but these statues belong in a museum, right beside the exhibits on slavery, Jim Crow, lynchings, and every other ugly and thankfully bygone relic institution that they fought to preserve.

They do not deserve a place of honor on public land within the United States, because they fought against the United States as citizens of another country. To give them such officially legitimizes with the force of government and sanctions their actions, and those of every one of their followers today.
