I just read this article about "Laser Seti."

I'm sure you'll go and read the article for yourself.

My questions are, how can we contribute? Will small donations be accepted? Will this
mean we'll have a zillion times more seti data to analyze?

There are probably more questions, so let's discuss the subject.

I'm so bad about asking questions before I go look for an answer myself. I've
done it again.

Here is where you can go to donate to the project.

Suzie, if you would like this thread moved from the Cafe to one of the Science forums, just pm the mod list.

Perhaps we might leave this thread in the Cafe for a week or so, then move it to maximize readership.

Why not.

First question. Is this basically a Seti Institute initiative and not to do with Seti@Home?

Second question - Is there any indication that any data from this will wend its way to us as crunchers?

I like the decal at $25 though :-) I think this is certainly worth keeping an eye on, and I agree with Angela that a possible move to the science threads would prove beneficial.

I didn't know about the science threads. I'd wondered why no one
had mentioned Laser Seti yet. Doh!

Let's just lock this one up and we'll all move over to the science threads.

Monitors, We can wait a day or two before we lock this.
