Running Seti and Einstein. Einstein uses all detected cuda cores, Seti does not. Running Mint 18.1 on two Ryzen 7 systems, one system has two GTX 1050 TI's the other one GTX 750 TI. Both systems 32GB ram, using Boinc client 7.6.31 from Mint repository, and Nvidia 375.66 opencl driver. Settings include 100% CPU 100% of the time, always use GPU, and store at least 0 days of work with and additional 2 days. Seti , when running, uses 14 threads with Einstein using 2 CPU/GPU's (or 1 on the GTX 750 system). When Einstein runs, every 60 min., it uses 14 threads plus 2 CPU/GPU,s. In 2 plus months have never seen Seti use the cuda cores, only Einstein, any ideas? |

Try setting Einstein to NNT, Make sure Seti has selected use GPU, change cache to 3 days work plus .1 day additional work. methinks that would force Seti to download. |

It would help if your computers weren't hidden. Can you post the first part of the Event Log after a BOINC restart? Restart BOINC, if it doesn't make a work request then force one with the Update button. Post the first part of the Event Log including the first Work Request. |

Set Einstein to NNT (assume this means no new tasks), set cache to 3 days plus 1 additional and restarted. Not sure if Seti has GPU selected, activity is set to always use GPU . At the moment Seti is using 14 threads and Einstien is using 2 (CPU/GPU) so no change. Other computer a 1700x is already set up that way. Kernel and Driver are not quite the latest, last time I updated them even Einstein stopped using CUDA. |

I have a feeling you are using the default preferences for Seti since the log doesn't show a change date. That really doesn't matter what your location is, but does say you haven't modified anything. So go to your computer list Gort Only and note the location. Probably is default or " - " Then check your Preferences and make sure "Use NVIDIA GPU" is selected for your location. |

At the moment Seti is using 14 threads and Einstien is using 2 (CPU/GPU) so no change. Just a minor point, and probably has nothing to do with your problem, but you should set additional to .1 not 1. This basically controls how often Seti looks for new work and does not add days of WUs. SETI@home classic workunits 4,019 SETI@home classic CPU time 34,348 hours |

Made changes but I believe local prefs override generic or location, so made them all the same. Am letting Einstein accept tasks again. Not seeing any changes, will monitor for several days. Have a hunch this may be video driver related but not sure also first time I am using repository version of Boinc instead of Berkeley version which is still at 7.2.42. May try reverting to Berkeley version and download video driver from Nvidia if other changes don't work. Thanks for the replys. |

Problem solved. After reading GPU FAQ went to Seti@home preferences and saw that use NVIDIA GPU was NOT checked. Too many settings in different places. The above comments helped getting a good mix of Einstein and Seti and Seti now using the GPU. |

One final note. Using 1 day cache with additional 0.1 forced Boinc to use both GPU's. |
