While I have my settings at about 450 GB total for BONIC...I notice BONIC is using only 9.30 MB...
What gives?

Drop down to 1Gb and you will have plenty, or maybe 2Gb if you want to be really safe!

It is the limit that BOINC will use for any and all projects you run.
For most of my systems I have no limit set "Use no more than --- GB "

That setting is mostly for folks with small disks. Using an old 40 gb disk in a dedicated machine for example. You might want to limit the total amount that BOINC uses for all it's projects, so some project doesn't suddenly download a couple of GB and crash your system.

If you run multiple projects it's possible to get up over a GB or 2 used as some other projects have larger data files to store.

In your situation, you can just leave it alone. If you are only using ~10mb, then the high limit has no effect at all.
