Oh 23C is a nice temp,we get hotter than that here in our summer.\

My daughter lives at 8316 feet in Colorado and they were getting snow about the first of September. look out the window and see Pikes Peak covered with snow in the dead of summer.

Beer gets well chilled outside over night. LOL
Cheers everybody

G'morning all, from a warm and overcast day in the highlands as we await more rain and another damp weekend.

We actually made it to 25C here yesterday and 26C is expected today Grant, but ATM the heat is on in the brewroom turning sugar into syrup.

So once that's done and the yeast is feasting I have to go and pick up a PC that needs attention (maybe a new hard drive required) and then it should be pretty close to Friday Beer O'clock.

Anyhow I better go and rinse my new fermenter out seeing as it's now sterilised and 7.5kgs of sugar is near ready to go into it so I can dissolve the last of the 15kg bag.

Cheers.

G'evening everyone.

Well after another day of cleaning and moving furniture around I'm now sitting back and enjoying a couple of glasses of Black Sambuca before bed.

Cheers.

I have been out riding my 8 wheel toy in the snow, and loving it.
Now it is time to come in, get warm, and have a few hundred cold beers. :D

G'day everyone, from a warm but windy day in the highlands.

Sounds like you're really enjoying that new toy of yours Steve. :-)

Well I'm about to go and help a mate move a few wrecks around his yard, but I will be taking a few track rations with me. They look I'm drinking red Powerade, but they have a special added kick to them. ;-)

Cheers.

Wiggo your one busy man, I don't know how keep up with it all.

The only thing I have to do is feed the dog and she doesn't like dog food. LOL
chewy bones and treats she knocks the hell out them. LOL
First night I had her she chewed up my electric blanket, I knew she needed toy. LOL good thing it wasn't plugged in. LOL

Trying to get her to fetch my beers, now that would be a plus. LOL

G'morning all.

I like to keep busy Grant, but I must say that yesterday turned out to be a very long day. We got my mate's yard cleaned up by mid afternoon, went to the pub for a few beers and then had a roast beef dinner before going home to feed dog and then C.W.#1 turned up so it ended up being a very late night.

Boy, now I do need some sleep.

Cheers.

G'morning everyone, from a lovely sunny summer's day in the highlands.

Well I'm on my last coffee break for the morning before I get into my brewroom and bottle 6 dozen longnecks (750ml bottles) of lager, I'm just not looking forward to the boiling water first part of the process (I'll be sweating bucket loads).

Anyhow, Beer O'clock today will commence when the brewroom been finished with and put back to its usual way. I just hope that I don't get many more interruptions along the way (why to visitors always turn up when a person is busy with important things to do?)

Cheers.

Wish I had that problem. LOL

Not to mention losing the next day as well, but I'm getting too old for these long extended days for sure and crazy women.

Wiggo I might have asked you this before but whats the AVG % of your beer?

And you Rum?

The beer is 6.1%, ginger beer is 5% and all my spirits are produced from a 40% ethyl alcohol base. I water the base down (and it must be watered down to some extent) to that percentage Grant, but it can be adjusted up or down depending on how much water you add.

Well the heat is now on in the brewroom so I'll be getting very busy (and sweaty) as soon as this 12L of water boils.

Cheers.

Most of my visitors throw in 1 way or another Grant. ;-)

I'm on a catch up ATM Grant and I'll still have 20 dozen empty bottles to fill up yet, but at least there'll 18 dozen in stock today (6doz will be ready for the fridge in 2 days).

Well the brewroom should've cooled down a bit by now so my short break is over, time to rinse and prime those 6 dozen bottles before my next short break.

Cheers.

Just taking my last short break before filling and capping, if it wasn't for those unexpected visitors this morning I'd be near finished by now.

No I don't Gordon as I can't see the point of wasting $'s on something that has to be replaced everytime after the sterilization process (or the mess they leave behind after the process because they can't handle the heat), but every dozen bottles goes into a coloured stackable plastic crate (colour depends on the product inside) on which a sticker is attached so I can write the date the produce was bottled on onto.

My beer also goes into a different shaped beer bottle to what my ginger beer goes into so that there's no confusion in the fridge either (I use to do the same with dark ale, but no one drinks it around here). ;-)

Anyhow, I better finish this break and get back in there and finish it off before someone else interrupts me.

Cheers.
