Hey all

Any idea why boinc is frozen on this? Task manager shows it is still "doing stuff" as normal but boinc stuck on 0 percent and doesnt seem to be progressing at all.

Cheers

Sometimes, the screen will not update for visible periods of time. This is also known as "screen lag". It doesn't mean that the processing has stopped, which you can see via the task manager. It just means its not getting reported.

While I have not seen hours of failed screen updates I have seen lags into multiple minutes.

If you are having a "laggy" system there are things you can do (like having the gpu suspend whenever you are using the system). And other "tuning" you can do.

I see you are running Mcuda50 on your gpu. What do you have in your Mcuda50.cfg file?

What do you have in your mb*sog.txt file? (if you have one).

If both are empty you may be able to help you screen lag by looking at the documentation and putting some parameters in.

The other question is do you have an "app_config.xml" file in your Boinc/Seti (hidden) programdata sub-directory? If yes, how many gpu tasks do you have it running? And how much cpu do you have assigned to each task? 0.50/0.25 (eg. 2 gpu tasks, each utilizing 1/4 of a cpu).

What sorts of things can be done? I'm stuck on "GPU suspended - computer is in use"

I've unchecked all preferences related to suspending both locally and on the web, and I've restarted the machine, but it will not show screensaver graphics or process any of the data - the elapsed time and remaining time have been the same for a couple of days now.

Thanks,
Bob

Try what happens if you set "Use GPU always" from Activity menu

BOINC Manager Menu
