Wonders what would happen if we followed their anti vaccine advice. We do, except for West Virginia, Mississippi and California. http://www.ncsl.org/research/health/school-immunization-exemption-state-laws.aspx The issue is all those other anti-vax state residents can move around and spread disease to others. Should those smart sovereign states have the ability to stop anti-vax people from immigrating? |

We have immigration between States? We do have constitutional public health laws. Quarantines are legal. |

We have immigration between States? 9th and 10th. After all we can't allow the Feds to regulate what properly is a state matter, like abortion clinics being medical are a state matter, so YES! |

Therefore, you are advocating that all persons not vaccinated in an allowed Anti Vaccination State. When travelling to a Vaccination required State, could be subjected to a Quarantine? A qualified yes, if it becomes a problem. |

GENEVA, Switzerland (AFP) — The World Health Organization said Monday its experts will meet this week to determine whether an Ebola outbreak in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo constitutes a global health emergency. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has convened "an emergency committee" on the current outbreak in DRC's violence-torn North Kivu region, which has killed 135 people since August, the UN health agency said in a statement. http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/latestnews/WHO_considering_global_health_emergency_over_DRC_Ebola_outbreak Not that subject today, Clyde. |

This year, more than half of all US states have had confirmed or possible cases of acute flaccid myelitis, the polio-like illness that can cause paralysis and mostly affects children, according to an exclusive CNN analysis. CNN reached out to health departments in every state; 48 states responded, plus the District of Columbia. Of those, 30 states said they had cases that were confirmed, suspected or being investigated -- including 15 states that said they had confirmed cases in 2018. https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/15/health/acute-flaccid-myelitis-cases-states/index.html CDC confirms 62 cases of polio-like illness across US The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating 127 suspected cases of a polio-like condition that mostly affects children. The CDC said that 62 of those cases have been confirmed in 22 states in 2018. Acute flaccid myelitis (AFM) is a rare but serious condition that can cause paralysis, drawing comparisons to polio. AFM primarily impacts the nervous system and weakens muscles. There isn't a cure for AFM and the CDC does not yet know its long-term impacts. AFM - No cure yet? |

A raging measles outbreak in Europe may be a warning sign of what could occur in the U.S. if something doesn’t change soon, experts say. So far this year, there have been 41,000 cases in Europe and 40 deaths, according to the World Health Organization. The European experience may offer a window on how quickly things can go awry when parents choose not to vaccinate their children, doctors caution. The Anti-vaccination movement and their mis-information agenda have a lot to answer for, but in the end it'll be them that will ultimately pay the ultimate price. No cheers for them idiots either. |

The Anti-vaccination movement and their mis-information agenda have a lot to answer for, but in the end it'll be them that will ultimately pay the ultimate price. In relative terms, I think the harm done to the kids is greater than that to those responsible. |

Flu sufferers now have a new option for relieving symptoms. Xofluza (baloxavir marboxil), a single-dose, oral prescription drug, was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday. The antiviral is the first new flu treatment approved by the FDA in nearly 20 years, FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb said in a statement. "With thousands of people getting the flu every year, and many people becoming seriously ill, having safe and effective treatment alternatives is critical," said Gottlieb. More people were killed by seasonal influenza last winter than in any other since the 1970s. Fewer than 4 out of 10 adults in the United States got flu shots last winter, the lowest rate in seven seasons and one likely reason that the 2017-2018 season was the deadliest in decades. Drop in adult flu vaccinations may be factor in last season’s record-breaking deaths, illnesses |
