A thread dedicated to how we, European and American, see it differently.
A visit to some of Norways prisons that houses inmates who’ve committed violent crimes but are being rewarded for good behavior.

Janneseti,

I hope that this thread does not turn into a flame-fest.

Many in Europe see quite a number of things quite differently than many in the USA, and vice-versa.

But then, the same can be said about various groups in just Europe, as well as various groups in just the USA.

We are not all the same.

We do not think all the same.

We all have different ideas and opinions.

We ALL do need to (at least in my opinion) gain some tolerance and acceptance, learn about each other, and celebrate our diversity, not continually tear each other down.

Why can't we all just get along with each other?

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

So do I.
Russians are also welcome.
They are after all neighbours of mine.

SETI rules apply in this thread but I have also some extra rules.
Don't name calling and please just comment on the topic.

I think the British word "Behave" is a proper word for it.

I have friends in the Netherlands, and they were amazed when they saw pictures of some remodeling I had done in the basement. Our electricians used metal conduit piping and metal receptacles for the outlets. Seems normal to me, but they(in the Netherlands) supposedly only use plastic for that sort of thing.

When they visited me a few years ago, they brought some shoes over they had hand made for me. Here's a picture of my Dutch shoes:

American pastor Marty McLain visits the secular Nordic countries.
What role does religion have in the Nordic society? How do the Nordic people relate to God, faith and spirituality?
How does it differ from the US?

Yeah, that is weird.

When I was 18, it was legal in the USA for an 18 year old to buy vodka. I've been legal since I was 18. Times have changed.

That same year, I was in France. I saw 5 year olds buying bottles of wine. No parents there, just the kid.

You are right, it IS strange.

Many countries in Europe has the same strange law.
Here when 18 you can vote.
When 18 you could be drafted.
But bying alcohol you have to be 20...

And theoretically you can be a member of the parliament when 18 and propose legislations.

@Clyde
I say, ““I’m a liberal.”
That says nothing about whether I’m left or right, but I believe in free and fair elections, rule of law, respect for human rights.”

Too bad he wasn't born in the USA. He would have been a better President than the Clowns we usually elect.

Yes. But why does a US president have to be born in the US?
Sounds so very strange to me.
After all most of the US people are immigrants.
Trump's grandfather was.
