As I expected, Russia condemns U.S. missile strike on Syria, suspends key air agreement

MOSCOW — Russia on Friday condemned the U.S. missile strike against Syrian government forces late Thursday, and said it was pulling out of an agreement to minimize the risk of in-flight incidents between U.S. and Russian aircraft operating over Syria.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry also called for an immediate meeting of the United Nations Security Council after President Vladimir Putin declared the strike a violation of international law.

Minister of Foreign in Jordan Ayman Safadi said this.
"US missile strike in Syria necessary & appropriate response to Syrian regime targeting of innocent civilians and atrocities."
Some voices from Syria.
Much joy about US strikes. 1 neighbor went out on street screaming: "Bashar has fallen."
"We are happy but we cant go to street with Trump posters. Nusra won't like that."
"Everyone happy with strikes but we cant predict if Trump will do more"

Well, I saw three that objected.. Russia, Iran, and, of course, Syria.

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

Well, if you saw Trump's joint news conference with the King of Jordan, well...

In answer to the last question of a series from Julie Pace:
Q Before I move on to the King, could I just quickly ask you if the chemical attack crosses a red line for you?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: It crossed a lot of lines for me. When you kill innocent children, innocent babies -- babies, little babies -- with a chemical gas that is so lethal -- people were shocked to hear what gas it was -- that crosses many, many lines, beyond a red line. Many, many lines.

Thank you very much.

Seriously, I think that Trump's response was well reasoned and proper.

Remember, chemical weapons the 'C' in NBC (nuclear, biological, and chemical) are defined as weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). Use of chemical weapons, especially the 'nerve agents' is a VERY serious action.

Trump *could* have done a Reagan (remember what Reagan did about Libya's terrorist attacks, especially the April 5th, 1986 attack on the LaBelle disco in West Berlin). We bombed a number of targets in Libya, *including* Qaddafi's house, on April 14th, 1986. Assad ought to feel lucky that Trump didn't order him targeted as well, confining the missile attack to military targets, specifically the air bases used to launch the Syrian air force planes that dropped the chemical munitions.

I mean, seriously... Pictures of dead children killed in that chemical attack (75 dead last I heard -- 25 of them children)... Assad is lucky to still be drawing breath, in my opinion. At least Trump confined his response to *MILITARY* targets.

That fat kid running North Korea better watch out... HE is playing with missiles and NUKES.

Some more voices from Syria.
People in opposition areas in North Syria : "If Trump is serious he should bomb all the airports not only one."
One opposition activist in North Syria was as surprised by US strikes as rest of world. "We thought Trump was pro-Russia, anti-Muslims."

So, question for those of you in here who've habitually called the US starters of unnecessary wars, imperialists, etc...
obama once warned assad if he crossed a "red line," then did nothing when assad crossed that line again and again and again.

Answers that nicely :-)

Guess they are finally understanding the Western Left and the Western Media, are really a bunch of frauds.

<<shrug>> I haven't seen a peep from the "Western Media frauds" yet saying this was a bad thing.

Why isn't someone else standing up to these evils of the world?

They are too used to the USA doing the job, like we have been doing since WWII.

I was against starting another war... but something about the pictures of all the dead children killed by Assad's use of what appears to be Sarin has just gotten my goat (Trump's too, from the look of things).

It gets most decent people's goat, but as seen by the world's reaction, all we get are political soundbites on the international stage.

The only one to date who has shown the courage to act is Trump!

That has to be seen for what it is...

... a piss poor excuse from those who lead.

Negative.

Good cannot defeat Evil without Brute Force.

Unfortunately. Should this 'War' escalate. Moral and Ethical Cultures, as in all defense of Good against Evil in human history. Will be forced to kill innocents.

Ergo... Brute Force.

Sirius B... You have been corrected.

So Morality takes a back seat until brute force wins.

You stand corrected.

So why the erroneous corrections of my posts?

Most people realise that war is not moral.

Ergo - War & Morality are indeed incompatible.
