It's been raining here all day, not too hard up to a few minutes ago but now it's dumping on us.

The upper left coast has a forecast of a major wind storm this afternoon a evening, 60 mph gusts down in the lowlands and up to 100 in the mountains, it is raining atm. I hope I don't lose power because I should hit 100 million on Einstein some time this afternoon.

Surprised this morning with more rain which brings my total up to 56.26 inches and it looks like I will hit the 5 foot level by the end of the month.

That's one hell of a lot of rain for 1 season.

So far, so good, the gas furnace pilot light is still lit, even with 35mph gusts, tonight is going to be chilly, either 39F or 36F, depending on the source, the furnace is on, set to 77F during the day, and 62F at night(a stock setting of the New setback thermostat), it's 79F in here, just cause of the PC, max predicted temp here today, 69F.

I also got 2 New green air filters, cut to size, they're about 1" thick.

I still need that New vent cap(some flues have the vent cap attached as one piece I'm told, so that is why the vent cap might not be approved, poor excuse, unless they authorize a new gas furnace, instead of abandoning Me in place), but I'm hoping I don't have to try and get a heating and a/c company out here only to tell Me, sure we can install a new vent cap, it'll cost $2,000.00, meaning they'll install a New vent cap and a New gas furnace, which I can't afford, though it would solve the Vent cap problem, with a sledge hammer...

The New Pro1 thermostat works good, when I raised the temp in here to 77F, the gas furnace audibly clicked on, but then the temp in here was 71F, it's on again.

I just searched for an image online this time, it's not too hard to operate.

This morning the temp was 2C (felt like -2C), but luckily the overnight breeze kept any frost from forming, though we are expecting it to reach 21C here this afternoon.

Cheers.

Nice, Vic.

We still have the classic round analog dial Honeywell thermostat. I like it because it's simple. Just twist it.

This place didn't come equipped with one like that, similar of course, I can see the new one from here, but read it?

Not a chance, I'm too far away. It might say 81F, let Me get closer, nope, temp says 80F, set temp is 62F still, which during the day is ok.
I may need to boost the temp to 65F for night time. This has a Battery backup(2 AA Duracells), this is the T705 model.
I'm still learning how to make a set temp stick, there is a temporary hold and a permanent hold, temporary is what I've been setting so far, how long does that last? Idk.

A T705...

Not mine, just one I found online again.

I installed (by myself) a Honeywell wi-fi thermostat about three years ago. Not only does it run on a preset program, I can control it from anywhere via internet from a computer or phone app.

Besides a display and menu buttons, it has up/down buttons and a hold button. If I just do up or down, it holds that setting until the next scheduled change. If I press Hold, it holds the temp I set until I manually cancel the hold. On the computer or phone, I can also set a specific time other than the normal schedule for it to cancel the hold.

A couple years ago when I spent a week in Ohio, I left it on permanent hold at 87. The only problem with that was that I only remembered to cancel it when I was about two hours away, and it only got down to 81 by the time I got home.

The PC is boosting the temp in here, I'd set the temp for 74F this morning, the heat came on and the temp was 75F for a bit, then the furnace went into standby mode, now I have the a/c on, of the 4 windows in the living room, 1 is taped shut as that window is drafty(lets bugs in too), 1 has the a/c there, and the other 2 are openable, but the ones that are openable are on the same side of the mobile home, the wrong side when it's windy... My bedroom is not any better than the living room, since that room only has 1 window, and yep that window is on the same wrong side, there are two other windows, in a bedroom, and in a bathroom, one each, on each end of the mobile home, both taped shut.

It was up in the 70s and getting a bit humid today (wind coming straight up the thousand-plus miles from the Gulf), with sun in between lines of storms. The current line is a cold front that dropped Wrigley Field from the 70s to the 50s almost instantly. At the moment it's raining there, delaying the raising of the Cubs' World Series banner and the home opener vs. the Dodgers.

However, out here the front hasn't come quite yet. I had a lot of thunder a few hours ago, but no actual rain then either.

I fired up my old Athlon II X4 with a pair of GTX 660's in it Grant to take care of the chill during winter, but I'm down quite a few watts from last winter with the 4 new GTX 1060's replacing the old GTX 550Ti's (x2), GTX 560 & GTX 560Ti (I'll process a lot more work though this winter).

The temp here has made it to 19C now and I turned off the shed's ceiling fan downstairs as the temp there had hit 26C.

As for those crazy women (there's a very good reason why they're divorced), I try very hard to avoid them these days, but at times I get cornered with no where to go. :-O

Cheers.
